Keeping it real.
Left is Spring this year at 58kg on a very strict diet, lots of cardio and weight training everyday during the end of my prep, all whilst working full time AND doing my Masters😵😂 (my poor boyfriend, Mum and family having to put up with this too🙈)and Right is My current shape at 70kg where I now have a relaxed diet (eating what I want intuitively) very little cardio but still weight training 4-5days a week, after 2 holidays to Spain with my man💑 and just finished my Master (a lot less stress)😅.
This is not your usual post, what you see here is as much a mental transformation as a physical one.
Sticking to such a strict diet and training can take its toll on your mental and physical health. While i enjoy prep I also had to learn that for me it’s not possible to stay so lean all year around and I will admit it did take a while to accept gaining some bodyfat and water weight as well as gaining more muscle but what’s also good is that now I can enjoy meals out, enjoy treats, not saying no to everything because of having such a strict routine and enjoy lifting heavier, training better with more energy and building more muscle whilst feel confident in my own skin. It did take some time and anyone who has gone through prep and especially the after prep lows will understand what I’m saying here. Throughout my time I have learned a hell of a lot about my body, how to get lean but what I have also learned, which to me is more important, is to be happy with my body both in prep and offseason. Remember it does not matter what weight you see on the scales it’s how you feel!! Changes in your body can take its toll on your mind too but with the right people behind you (for me my amazing boyfriend and Mum❤️), you start to realize that health and happiness are a lot more important than being super lean all year round. I will get back tracking after Christmas but for now I can enjoy food, shorter intense workouts as for a while I didn’t feel like working out but that’s ok too! Sometimes its good to take a break as I know when I get back I will truly enjoy setting new goals and smashing them. Looking forward to see where this journey will take me next💪🏽#fitfam
