Workcation in the mountains 💫
Sometimes the mind needs a reset button to get creative and to get re-focused. Up here in Asheville, I can ignore my on-going To Do list from my apartment (oh, look! Laundry! Oh, look - dishes!) and focus on what I really want to take care of. A good space to take on exciting future projects by day and too much pasta and wine with the fiancé by night. Either way - can’t do a workcation (heck, vacation) without ☕️☕️☕️! -
Do you have any get-away spots? Maybe it’s time to create one 🤓💫
Ft: 🌹 Rose Hips Don’t Lie🌹
Neither do my taste buds.
And they say, “this cuppa’ here is perfect.”
▫️rose buds + petals
▫️milk + espresso
🍫 on the side because hex people are good humans
It’s F R I D A Y 🎉
FYI: Coffee doesn’t have to be so serious all the time. Remember to have fun with it.
Now go be a lil weird today
Try something ya haven’t tried.
Do a little dance.
And find some good coffee this weekend
And enjoy this non-haiku haiku ✌🏼
Continuing our #tcnbehindthebar - Oslo Series 🌿
“It’s more challenging in Belgium than in Norway. In Belgium coffee is less established than in Norway; Most people are used to good coffee in Norway.
In Belgium we were basically trying to sell a product that no one was really waiting for. Nobody was really into light roast filter coffee compared to Norway.
I feel like in Oslo, the standard cup of coffee is a good cup of coffee - even the chain coffee shops are decent.”
Why do you barista?
“ I really like all the aspects of my work. I like my hours, I like the interaction of people. I like to talk about the product that I am really passionate about and especially here at Java we get a lot of responsibility. We are all in it together. Changes we want to make, suggestions - everything is up for discussion and it’s just a really stimulating work environment.” - @realtomkuyken barista @kaffa_oslo @javaoslo

“I don’t know...I’m a technical nerd so maybe it’s the production side of it [roasting] that I love and the old machines. I mean, my dad is an engineer so he made me take things apart and that’s how we can get green beans roasted — in this old, basically, tumble dryer machine.” - Philip Suffron, Roaster for @kaffa_oslo / #tcnbehindthebar
Kicking off 2018 by bringing back #TCNBehindTheBar series.
// Special edition: 📍Oslo, Norway. -
A big thank you in advance to the baristas and roasters who let me catch them during peak hours and being so generous with their time with me. It only took me forever to get to posting about these but forever - in the weird social media way - your stories will be✌🏼
Hope everyone had a Christmas filled with love, laughter and cheer. ✨✨/📸: @andrewmayphotography -
I don’t often get too personal on here but it only seemed fitting to officially introduce you all to the backbone of TCN and my soon-to-be husband 😱🎉😍 💍 He’s been with The Coffee Nomad since blog post #1 . For every post where I’m traveling far, far away or debating which photo to post or which topic to tackle — there’s a very patient and loving man cheering me on and pushing me to continue and go even further with my dreams. Thank you for fueling all of our coffee addictions babe and here’s to all the upcoming years with you. Who knew all these years later you’d be #MrCoffeeNomad 😂☕️❤️🎉

Stopped by @notjustcoffee ‘s newest shop, @notjustcoffeedilworth and tried out their signature drink: Holy Mole 🔥Espressoo + steamed milk with a few dashes of mole bitters, Carolina reaper infused honey syrup, garnished with Black Onyx Chocolate Sugar and a dusting of smoked paprika. -

My coffee bar is feeling the holidays and lucky to have @pilgrimroasters from Philly dress it up ☕️ 🎄🤘🏼/ Two beautiful coffees here: a washed Kenya AB from guama that’s floral with notes of blackberry and 🍊blossom. Super clean & juicy. The second coffee is a head-over-heels Geisha white honey from Tarrazu 🇨🇷 full of tropical notes, white florals, orange zest and honey 🍯. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Huge thanks to Dan from @pilgrimroasters for roasting these beauties right. These coffees were sourced by @nordicapproach 🤗// any favorite coffees you’ve been sipping on lately??
