This is the 4th #pizza I've made in as many days, did I mention that I am #obsessed ? I've tweaked the crust a bit and it's coming along nicely. I baked the potatoes instead of boiling them and I used active yeast instead of instant. I think I'm going to try pizza yeast next. This has definitely satisfied my craving. We actually had nachos tonight so this pie is in the fridge. I want to see how it is tomorrow as #leftovers . The usual #crusts I make are dry and crumbly the next day. I have a good feeling about this one.
Sometimes when I get a little stressed I turn to my knives and hack away at a piece of wood. I have several projects going on right now and this one helps me think. I don't know if you can see it yet but I'm trying to get the wooden ball in the center to release. I'll post more as it progresses.
My first charcoal drawing since probably '98. A little rusty but it feels good to spread some chalk around. I'm going to do a study of this image as a series. I have an itch to create a wood cut print of it as well.
After 20+ years I still have everything. 11 out of 35 of my ink pens still work, I have pads that are only half full, pastels and pencils still exactly as I left them. I have an image to work on and a few ideas to get me started. Let's see if this rusty old mind and my beat up hands can produce anything worthwhile.
Here's my latest project. I've had this drafting table for about 30 years. It was given to me and I used it through my college years. I recently dug it out of dad's attic because he sold the house. I had to refinish the top because someone glued a protective cover on to the wood surface. As I was working on it I decided to look into it and I found that it's a #keuffelandesser and it dates to the early 1900s. It's in beautiful shape and now resides in my living room. I'm going to start doing some art again and I think a central location will be beneficial. Gus will also be able to utilize this table and I'm going to start promoting some projects for him. I think working together will help us both. Now I need to put up some shelves and perhaps a small cabinet for storing supplies.
