Incline DB is probably my favorite aside from overhead press. Just out here tryna get a big chest doe. 120x6x3 I usually workout solo. It has its pros & cons 🤷🏻♂️. I could’ve done more of these with a little help, but I also like the idea of not needing a spot for anything- hence why I like dumbbells more than barbell. I don’t always have the luxury of working out with someone to push me so I’ve just found a way to push through. You may also notice I didn’t have to grunt for the whole gym to hear 😂. #SetTheStandard#WorkInSilence
Told @irokschain I would teach him how to backflip... and we were successful! Swipe all the way right to see his solo back tuck! Haha his reaction is priceless. Second video is my slo-mo. (Looks way better in slow motion lol) Bodybuilders can be functional too 😉😎. Tag a functional bodybuilder and a non-functional one. Don’t say which one is which lmao #SetTheStandard
Triples at 455. Swipe for set #2 . There’s something motivating about turning down a spot when someone asks if you need one. Thoughts go like: I better not f**k this up 😂.
Upper body used to be something I looked forward to training at foreign gyms, but not as much anymore. I don’t care about flexin on anyone. I’m just here to squat and maybe in the process throw a few people off when they see how much weight I can throw on my back relative to my size. 🤷🏻♂️ #SetTheStandard
Casual pose, except my left arm was pitched too high 😭. This is why we practice, between sets, in the gym, out of the gym, in the grocery store, at the gas station, on the toilet. Pretty much anywhere. So when it comes time to stand on that stage, you’ve mastered it in all the elements 😂. Stopped by for a leg day at the best gym in Tracy @worldgymtracy.
Pretty happy with my progress this off season. My strength is up, and my proportions are coming along well. Need my arms to catch up, but I’d much rather have my legs stand out than my arms that’s for sure. There’s no doubt that when I’m back up on stage I will have improved, it’s just a matter of time, and I’m in no rush. 📸: @xoamanda_jadexo
@bulk_trilla you miss this gym? 😂
You can have all the certifications or degrees, but if you aren’t practicing what you preach, or have proven experience in said area... 😐. Side note- Instagram followers don’t qualify/validate you either. #justsaying
Decided to try out a new gym today. @csagym is the new local spot for powerlifting that’s for sure. Thanks to MJ & @jesseburdick for allowing me to train here today 🙏🏼. And tbh I didn’t know how much weight this was I just slapped it on cause I can’t math kilos 😂. So I sent it to @zach_trahan for translation 💯. Turns out it’s 230kg/507lbs. Which is pretty close to my last PR and this felt relatively easy soooo 🤷🏻♂️. #setthestandard
Not even sure of my current lbs at the moment but one thing is for sure, this pose sure looks better when I’m shredded 😂😂. But I must say, I FEEL great. Apart from none of my pants really fitting anymore 😭 my strength is at an all time high. Still aiming for a national show later this year with @xoamanda_jadexo but the focus right now is to grow! 📸: @xoamanda_jadexo
Motivated by @ifbbpro_mattramseier @jayy_coss 💯🙏🏼💪🏼.
If heaven had a height she would be that tall 💯. All smiles with my one & only, because she loves me even if my calves are small. 🤣 Forever thankful for this 🍑 😜 and I’m lucky to have this beauty as my valentine every day, ❤️. I love you 😬 😘 @xoamanda_jadexo
You ever try a meal prep that doesn’t taste like your typical boring meal prep? Or how about some chicken enchiladas that make you reconsider telling your mama she makes the best ones. 🤔. Yeah, I didn’t think it was a thing either until I tried @fit.eats
Over the course of my meal prepping, I’ve tried a handful of meals. I don’t usually post about them, but this one is by far the best I’ve had. Don’t take my word for it tho, try it! Order and use my discount code, I promise it’s worth it: fitmichael
The only time mindlessly going through the motions works in this arena is when you’re doing cardio. Back when I knew what running was, I would try as much as possible not to actually think about it while in the process. Maybe it’s not the same for everyone, but it was for me.
When it comes to resistance training, you absolutely cannot take the same approach and expect the best results. Aimlessly lifting not only inhibits growth, but also can result in injury more often than not. There’s a huge split between the type of mind frame one needs to have when, let’s say, long distance running vs lifting weight with intention. You need to have an intimate relationship with your movement, every single part of it. Develop that kinesthetic awareness when lifting. Ever heard “mind to muscle”? That’s it. I guess the point is, I see too many people shifting from one type of training to another without shifting their attention/focus/awareness as well. Doesn’t work like that my friends. Agree or nah?
