To celebrate here are 3 absolutely stonking 7” Singles. First up is Alpár, with Wakayama & Mejiro. Check out that beautiful sleeve. This was 8/250 copies.
Next is Adam Leonard & Entkommen Pt1 Pt2. This was 93/250. Last is The Detox Twins with In The Hospital Garden. This copy is number is 7/250 copies.
All three were released to some shops Wah Wah Records has some copies in I think. I’ve also added a cat pic for good measure.
Have a great weekend people and make it a waxy one.
Good morning you beautiful people. We’ve got some really dull and drab weather today so we need to spin some music which brings up the happiness levels.
First up is the new remix album of “Drunk” aptly named “Drank” and given the shake up by “The Chopstars”
Pressed on some lovely purple wax it’s a great accompaniment t to the already insane 10” album by Thundercat.
Out today, so go grab a copy.
After a hard days work it’s nice to come home to a new record and a Pom Pom wearing cat.
This evenings wax comes curtesy of my favourite label of last year “On The Corner Records” and this particular disc is the first for DJ Khalab on the label and hopefully many more to come.
I’ve yet to spin it but from the preview track online and remixes he’s done already, it promises to be a great EP.
The record is polished off with another sleeve masterpiece by Victoria Topping.
And yes the cat doesn’t give a damn about the Pom Pom 😆
Good evening to all. Here is a recent birthday gift of one of my all time favourite albums.
This set is chock full of excellent music and info. As always the highlight (for me anyway) is the Steve Wilson stereo remastered version.
Good morning, it’s mixed weather here at the HQ and so that means music and lots of it. First on my agenda is playing a tape which I missed the first time around. However on hearing it was getting a larger second run, I knew my time had come.
If you’ve haven’t listened to this LP by Dream Division then you seriously need to. Hit up Bandcamp and get to it. Recommended for fans of analogue synth and soundtrack synth music.
Good evening guys and gals of the wax universe. Depending where you are in the world I wish you a happy and safe Saturday Night, if you’ve already had said night and recovering, I hope it was a good one.
Tonight’s LP of choice is this belter. I chose this without listening to any of it first and based my purchase on reviews and descriptions of what musical delights were contained.
Ohh boy am I glad I did. It’s an album which transcends multiple genres with a Korean twist. If you like ambient, abstract, Jazz, electronic and world music then you’ll probably find something to like here.
I can certainly recommend streaming it and if you don’t want to take my word Vinyl Factory also recommends this one.
Good evening #instagram yet another new addition to the collection. I don’t think the group or their music needs an introduction. The sleeve is a little warn but the wax is nice.
Also swipe to see Bobby keeping a lookout for record thieves.
Gunship have just made my day by putting out a new track. Head to gunshipmusic.com/gate for a chance to will a full size arcade machine with 1000s of games installed and the new video to “Art3mis & Parzival”
By the way @gunshipmusic the track is fantastic.
Good afternoon people. Anyone for Colin Newman?
This is a bit of a weird record in my collection. As I don’t own any other Newman records and as this was an inherited record, it sticks out like a sore thumb. Even in my parents collection before I inherited it, it was an oddity.
As you can see it’s possible that the price paid for this record at the time was its attraction. However evident from the lack of play this wax has seen it didn’t float my parents boat.
Despite the horrific weather we’ve been having, post is still finding its way to me. Today’s delivery is a fantastic 7” put out by the good folks over at WRWTFWW Records.
The 1986 soundtrack for Psychos In Love taken from VHS for Low Fidelity sound. This particular copy is from a small limited run and signed by Debi Thibeau (Kate), actor / composer Carmine Capobianco (Joe) and director Gorman Bechard.
Like the normal versions it’s on Grape coloured vinyl and comes with a postcard and bumper sticker “I ❤️ My VCR”
According to the Bandcamp page this is also one of the test pressings, plus all the profits goes to a Swiss cat shelter “Otis Foundation” who do work rescuing street cats mainly in Egypt.
Being a music lover and also a cat owner (swipe for obligatory cat pic of Bobby) I just had to get this.
Staying with Jazz. I’ve been adamant on fleshing out my Jazz collection and trying to listen to as many cats as possible. One name that really eluded me was Adderley. While he’s a name cropping up on other musicians albums I’d yet to hear his own work. Thankfully this was sitting in the racks at Wah Wah and I couldn’t resist.
Joker Japanese pressing, complete with Obi and insert. Everything in tip top condition and the LP looks un-spun.
