Learning, applying, and refining. Been working a whole lot recently on wrist movement; specifically, not pulling with the back or biceps, but through movement and a quick flick of the wrist. I've become more successful with some techniques like kouchi-gari and morote-seoi, and have "lost" other techniques I liked such as ippon-seoi and o-goshi. All part of learning new things - techniques come and go. #judo#dojo#practice#technique#drilling#learning#koreanjudo#ijf#throwing#bjj#mountainview#bayarea
Since day one, I've been crazy about you. While it's cheesy to say that we've "been through thick and thin", it really is true - we are in a constant struggle to stay together due to the many factors outside our control that are at work. Nonetheless, your will to fight is a constant source of motivation for me, even if you think otherwise. The mountains you have moved to be with me humbles me and the never-ending warmth of your love comforts me. It has been an amazing three years with you, and I really do hope there are many more anniversaries to come. You swept me off my feet! (Had to say it)
For the last three years, @noeeelie and I have visited the elephant seals at the Año Nuevo State Park. Check out the video!!
These animals are so interesting! Every year, they travel ~20,000 miles either along the coast up to Alaska or far out to the Pacific Ocean - and they do this twice a year! For around three months (Dec-Feb) the males and females chill at the beach 🌊 , breeding, nursing, and enjoying the California sun ☀️ .
What's really crazy is that these animals were almost extinct 100 years ago, hunted for the oil in their blubber. Between 20-100 elephant seals escaped to an island in Mexico, where they were found decades later. Now, they number around >200,000 due to all the conservation efforts that have been carried out.

Can't do just nine! I had so many great experiences this year, thankfully always surrounded by friends and family! From experiencing Coachella, to backpacking multiple times in SeKi, moving in with the wonderful @noeeelie, road tripping through the Southwest with Noëlie, @pauline_cayla, and @flavien_r, watching my younger brother @laughados be a beast in Taiko, applying to grad schools, and to all the great times shared on the mats. Definitely a busy year, and I hope to commit 2018 to be more thoughtful and to give even more of myself to what I do.
