Jessica Lynn Buckler (8)
August 14, 1984 - January 7, 1993
Jessica Lynn Buckler went outside to play with other children on the evening of January 7, 1993. She was enjoying a game of hide and seek around 6pm outside of the apartment complex that she lived in. When it was Jessica's turn to seek the kids who were hiding, she disappeared. She had been partnered with a 16 year old boy for finding them. After awhile, the children who they had been playing with realized no one was searching for them. They assumed that Jessica and the older boy had decided to play a different game by themselves. When Jessica do not return home later, her parents called the police. Searches for the child began immediately. The boy she was paired with for the game, Garry Gampfer Jr., was found wandering around in an agitated state. He was picked up and brought home. Gampfer was brought in by police to be questioned. Jessica's body was found the next day in a ball field near her apartment complex. She had been stabbed to death. Gampfer, who was mentally challenged, was charged with Jessica's murder. DNA from the crime scene helped to incriminate the boy. Gampfer was convicted and sentenced to 40 years in prison for the murder.

Sara Nan Hodges (7)
December 10, 1981 - March 23, 1989
Sara Nan Hodges was playing outside of the home she lived in with her mother on March 23, 1989 when she went missing. Searches began to try and find the little girl. Three days later, the child's body was found in a neighbour's home between a headboard of a waterbed and the best. Cooper was one of the first people to volunteer for Sara's search party. Cooper was arrested and charged but initially denied the accusations. Nancy Anne Brewster (7)
January 9, 1956 - September 29, 1963
Nancy Anne Brewster fell ill at the age of five. Lumps had appeared on her neck and shed began to throw up very often. After first grade, Nancy was no longer well enough to go to school. Her mother, Ruth, was extremely religious and saw her daughter as "God's perfect child." She believed that nothing could really be wrong with Nancy because of this. A Christian Science partitioner also encouraged Ruth to ignore her daughter's symptoms. They prayed for Nancy in hopes that she'd be healed. Nancy was terribly weak, as she would throw up all the time. They did not release or even care to acknowledge that Nancy was suffering from cancer. The poor little girl was forced to run around and exercise in temperature over 100°F. Her mother forced her to eat but Nancy was unable to keep much of it down. Ruth and the partitioner believed that since Nancy "could not be sick," that she was just being stubborn. Ruth would become very angry at Nancy and beat her because she was not getting better. Nancy suffered without any loving hands to comfort her or pain relief at all. Nancy died from Lymphoma on September 29, 1963 at the age of seven. Her mother had no memorial for the little girl and told her other children that Nancy had been sent to Africa. Her name was not to be spoken in their home after that. Ruth would later claim she had four children instead of five and continued to claim that God always relieved her family of sickness and pain.
Nancy was once a healthy child who loved to play. She enjoyed swimming and playing kickball. She liked to play with dolls and play tag. Nancy like to read books and climb trees. Her favourite book was The Lonely Doll Learns a Lesson by Dare Wright, which she got for Christmas a year before her death. Her favourite foods were bananas, ice cream, and tacos. Although in agony, Nancy never complained or pitied herself. Rip precious child... #NancyBrewster

Geraldine "Jerry" Hardaker (5)
May 26, 1935 - February 19, 1940
Geraldine Hardaker was called Jerry for short. Jerry's mother, Betty Hardaker, was estranged from her husband and cared for the three children. Jerry was the oldest and Betty's favourite child. Betty had a history of mental disorders and had been unstable since the births of her two youngest children. On February 19, 1940, Betty took Jerry for a walk in the park. They played together on the seesaw and watched the fish before heading to the park's public restroom. After using the restroom, Betty picked up her daughter and gave her a big hug. She had decided she wanted to kill herself and Jerry as she believed Jerry was too good for this world. She slammed the child down on the sink as hard as she could two times to make sure Jerry was dead. She left her daughter there and went to an Indian reservation where she hid. She had planned to kill herself but was unsure of how to do it. Betty Hardaker was arrested the next day and admitted killing Jerry. She told police that she didn't want Jerry to live the life that she had. She said she loved her daughter so much and maybe a little too much. Betty's estranged husband told police that Betty had recently joined a cult and had also just been released from a sanitarium. Betty Hardaker was placed in a psychiatric hospital before her death in 1956.

Devan Brooke Duniver (5)
October 19, 1992 - June 27, 1998
Devan Brooke Duniver lived in an apartment with her mother and older brother. On June 27, 1998 at 1:30pm, Devan's mom realized that Devan was missing. When she went to look for the child, she ran into a young boy who was a playmate of Devan's. The boy was 12 year old Anthony Harris who lived in the same apartment complex as Devan. Devan's mother offered the boy 5$ to help her search for Devan. They searched together for several hours before returning home. Devan's mother then called the police to report her daughter missing at 8:11pm. The child's body was found the next day at 2:30pm in a wooded area by the apartment complex. Devan had been stabbed multiple times in the neck. A few weeks later, Anthony Harris was arrested for Devan's murder. He denied committing but was later coerced into confessing after they fed him information. He had really only confessed to hitting Devan because he was very scared. Harris could not be tried as an adult because he was 12 at the time of the crime. In 1999, he was sentenced to 8 years in juvenile detention, and to be released on his 21st birthday. The main evidence again Harris was his coerced confession, causing the conviction to be overturned in 2000. Anthony Harris was released on June 8, 2000 after it was proved that his rights had been violated. It was found that Harris's confession did not fit the crime and the information that was correct had been fed to him by the police. Devan's real killer has never been caught. The case remains unsolved.

She was seen riding her bike near the school at 10:30 but she never made it to class that day. She usually raced her brother home after school because whoever got there first decided what they would watch on TV. Around 6:30pm, Jessica was playing outside of the apartment with her older sister and some other children. She was making mud pies while her sister played soccer with some boys. Their stepfather called the children's mother to tell her he could not find Jessica. Jessica's mom rushed home and they called the police after they searched and still could not locate her. Her body was found buried in a field 11 days later. Decomposition of the body made the cause of death difficult to determine. Jessica had possibly been strangled to death. The prime suspect lived in the same apartment complex as the Martinez family at the time of Jessica's kidnapping and murder. The suspect was later ruled out because his DNA was not a match to that found at the crime scene. Jessica's killer has never been caught. The case remains unsolved.

Yvonne Elliott received money from her father on October 4, 1961 so she could ride her bicycle to a nearby store. Her dad had asked her to buy him some cigarettes there. She was riding her red bike when a young boy stopped her. The boy was Yvonne's neighbour, 13 year old Steven Schloneger. He asked Yvonne what her name was before asking her to come into a field with him. Yvonne followed Schloneger through the weeds and into the field where the boy began to remove the child's clothing. He then threw her in a shallow pond and left her to drown. Yvonne's dad began searching for his daughter after she had not returned home. He found her bike abandoned by the side of the road. Soon after, he discovered his daughter's naked body. Schloneger was witnessed at the scene around the time that Yvonne was killed. He was arrested and confessed to killing the child.
