Waking up early, being cold, and sitting still for long periods are some of my least favorite things. But sitting in the car for 8 hours, hitting snooze on 15 alarms, and winter temperatures are worth watching the sunset turn the desert gold (and all the dried pineapple and chocolate covered pretzels I ate).
After a night sleeping in the car (me) and camping out behind a church (@jacezemcik ), we spent the day in Point Reyes and swapping music.
I’ve had an adventure filled year and I’m thankful for friends who help me feed my wanderlust. I’m looking forward to more trips exploring our public lands and racing time to catch sunset.
I’m getting a little bored with the lack of snow and the smog here in SLC so I’ve resorted to planning more weekend trips to keep me occupied. And eating gummy bears, because they’re always good for morale.
Happy solstice. Glad we’re heading back to longer days.
@marcjones and I lost the trail several times and led a few people the wrong way but Delicate Arch at night was well worth the trouble. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas.
