I delivered coffee to a man in my work on Sunday. We started chatting, he was talking about how his close friend had a heart trauma, he told me that people should not overwork themselves, listen to of their bodies and he also told me to make sure that my future husband does the housework and changes the nappies just as much as I will. We then got onto the topic of equality and mindfulness etc. Meanwhile, another customer walked in and told @hollyagraham (another assistant at the till) that I shouldn't be talking to customers for that length of time. Holly told her that it's nice to make an effort to speak to people, but she apparently stormed out afterwards because she didn't get my full attention when she walked in—bearing in mind she was greeted and served immediately. Holly told myself and the man what she said, the man said "Awk don't worry about her...If she comes in again, just tell her I felt unwell and that I might have needed an ambulance!" We all laughed it off and continued our day. Then, today I saw him again, and he quickly handed me a Waterstones bag whilst I was busy with another customer. He said "This is for Sunday, thank you!" and briskly walked out again. I looked in the bag and found a gorgeous book on Feminism. I then opened the book and found a note inside saying "Thank you, for choosing humanity over commerce. May you never lose your empathy. All the best for your future. -The Old Guy." I have never been so moved. Thank you 'old man' for making my day 100 times brighter! What a gorgeous thing to do for someone you hardly even know! It gave me chills and now I appreciate every quick conversation I have with someone, because you never know how much it will mean to them. Cannot wait to read this book now. ❤️❤️❤️
Been really missing uni projects and uni friends recently, however I have been doing loads of freelance work which has been keeping me busy. Oh, and making lots of #lattes 😆☕️ New things coming very soon, stay tuned!
