I'm loving Mia is open late on Fridays. I also love the way they are bringing visual arts to life. We took in the Power and Beauty exhibit last night. We maybe didn't spend more time looking at the art, but we definitely had more conversation. And maybe most important is that they are interested in coming back to see more because they had a good time. #powerandbeautymia#artsmia
Saying goodbye to some work from college. 1) Large scale drawing of my favorite Doc Martens. I made such a mess on the wall this was taped to while I drew it. 2) self portrait 3) chair from a color study class...one of my favorite classes ever. Also, I was obsessed with chairs in college. 4) detail of chair...learning about complementary colors.
Bad photo. Good memories. Better than the other way around.
This last weekend kicked off a couple of weeks of "good-bye/see ya laters/all the best". I'm curious what it looks like on the other side of transitions for all of us.
in the meantime, I find myself singing a little Tom Petty. "And the days went by like paper in the wind
Everything changed, then changed again
It's hard to find a friend
It's hard to find a friend"
When you get used to the idea of a company collecting data about you and targeting emails based on this data, it gets weird when the emails don't make sense. This one has me wondering what have I been buying that makes Target think I need to buy diapers?
Unforeseen and fabulous side-effect of asking people for recommendations of whole music albums worth a listen: live music. Two weeks ago I listened to the Norwegian band, Sløtface for the first time while the niece and nephew rode rides at Nickelodeon Universe. This week when looking into them more, I saw they had a show scheduled for the 7th Street Entry. Following one of my sister's life rules...just buy the ticket, I did.
