Of course I plan to create a thorough travel review on Ghana, but I'll take this time to point out that every single person visiting Ghana should partake in the educational tours offered at the Slave Castles in Cape Coast. I've always learned about what happened to Africans as slaves in America, but this was my first time conceptualizing the torture they experienced on African soil before even entering the slave ship. It is even more devastating to face the reality that several forms of this cruelty still exist today. The only answer is love.

I didn't start intentionally eating raw avocados until last year when I learned about its cardiovascular benefits. This past weekend, a couple of my girls and I successfully made plant-based waffles with only FOUR ingredients. ✨ •1 cup of Spelt flour
•1 cup of Almond milk
•2 Tbsp. of Grapeseed oil
•2 Tbsp. of Organic Coconut Sugar.

Before I put anything in my temple, I like to evaluate whether it is contributing to my wellbeing. • Cucumbers: help remove free radicals and prevent cancer cell growth • Chickpeas (Garbanzo beans): loaded with protein, fiber, and improves digestion • Sweet potatoes: Vitamin A (supports healthy vision), Vitamin C (strengthens immune system), and Manganese (helps reduce inflammation). Get you a healthy meal boo.

Bananas are loaded with electrolytes, potassium, and Vitamin B6 for our physical wellbeing. Since bananas also contain high levels of dopamine, they even support our emotional wellness too. (Dopamine is a neurotransmitter in the brain involved with sensations, pleasure, and the reward-pathway). Be sure to re-up on bananas the next time you feel sad. ✨✨✨
