Considering we were in South Africa this time 4 years ago (and the fact that Black Panther has me hype), I thought I’d throw it back to that time we visited Lesedi Cultural Village. It truly was an awesome experience. @keeechols @symple_equazion @mayjaymartin_29
“A good father is one of the most unsung, unpraised, unnoticed, and yet one of the most valuable assets in our society. “
I love that quote because it is so true, and even more so for black fathers. I took this picture of my husband and son sleeping and all I could think about was how important my husband is to me and to our little family. Society will have you believe that good black fathers don’t exist. That the black father is a fleeting figure in their children’s lives. My own upbringing led me to believe that myself. But, as an adult I’m realizing that is simply not true. I am surrounded by the best of the best in terms of fathers. From my brothers to my husband. They are each breaking down the negative black father stereotypes and I couldn’t be more proud. Good fathers do exist. Good black fathers do exist. ❤️ @imstillraisingcain @13juice @stephenajohnson1 @romanmichael8 @theinstagramgod
Black Panther was EVERYTHING! Over the years, through my husband, I have come to be a real fan of Marvel. Black Panther is hands down my favorite Marvel movie and one of the best movies I have ever seen. The soundtrack, the fashion, cultural relevance, acting—everything was top notch. The fact that I was able to watch it with my best friends and my husband just made it all the better. Great movie ❤️!
Throwback Thursday to that time hubs and I decided to go drive up the San Gabriel Mountains in a hoopty (that had 1/4 tank of gas) and with no cell service. Oh, and it was spontaneous so we didn’t tell anyone where we were. It could have been all bad— but I did get this cool picture 🤷🏾♀️😂.
Seeing this little boy calm is definitely rare these days. He seems to be fully embracing his toddler-hood by constantly running, climbing, and getting into any and EVERYTHING lol. But, I love it. He keeps his daddy and me laughing and full of amazement at the new things he seems to be doing daily. We are truly blessed. #sonshine
Throwback Thursday to that time my my mom, brother, and I went whitewater rafting in Yellowstone. This picture makes it look a lot more intense than it was, in reality the rapids were at a level 1 lol. Not long after this picture was taken my brother thought it would be funny to push me into the water 😱. Surprisingly, “Vacation Lauren” thought it was funny too 🤷🏾♀️😂. @13juice @keeechols
