And her dreams took flight... So many joyful connections as we learn to spread our wings and remember what it feels like to fly.
After a day of absorbing the inspiration of filling up with nature and art... this is what emerged.
This is that joy of stepping into the quiet space between breathing and allowing the flow. This is when life opens and we remember... joy waits in those spaces. When did you laststepinto the space that was waiting for you to remember you?
I love owls for all their quirky humour their wonder filled curiosity. and They remind us to keep asking and be open to what comes with all their guiding wisdom along the way. 🦉
They are the funniest, wisest souls who regularly make me laugh and smile.
Blue Days on display at Herring Island until mid April in the A4 Art Australia exhibition.
Hope you have an opportunity to visit Herring Island before the Summer Arts Festival finishes as it is a definite delight. There are so many beautiful works to explore and for sale if one calls to you.
Waiting for the punt. Herring Island calls. A photo taking by an ABC photographer for their article from the Contemporary by Nature exhibition. Reminiscing after a wonderful celebration for the final show of theHerring Island Arts Festival for 2018
Herring Island Summer Arts Festival is opening it’s final exhibition for the season. Thought I would add this visual in case you don’t know Herring Island. You take s out from Como Landing South Yarra (Melbourne locals... use the extension of Williams Street and follow around to Como Landing). A veautiful space to play and explore. The island is full of sculptures and is a National park. Art and Nature has to be the best of both worlds.
Opening day for the A4 Art Australia Exhibition. I’m going early to help with the opening which is always fun. Opening starts at 12 so if you are in Melbourne and looking for a fun experience then come and enjoy.
Herring Island is a beautiful bush oasis to explore and the art will be a joy to see. I love being part of group shows and seeing the talent of so many unique visions in one space.
Saturday is a perfect day to play. I have 4 owl paintings on show and there will be so much more.
If you do come along, I would love to know more about your experience.
My parliament of owls is taking shape as I grow the layers. Slowly evolving. Grateful the dates for the show were moved forward a week as I have so much more to experience. I am having fun in the discoveries along the way. The variety of paintings, sculptures, drawings and brooches are a challenge and an adventure as I decide how they will all fit together. Love the idea of exploring the display case as an installation rather than a wall. It is more playful and fun as I discover what is waiting in the next exploration.
It seems to me that art is fueled by the passion to ask...to wonder... to question. Artists are always pushing the edges of what they know to see what is possible. 🌀
That takes a curious mind and one open to bold leaps and seemingly impossible connections. ❓
Those impossible connections tend to be the most fun.
To me art is that spiritual connection that is a loop of asking and receiving. My job is to keep asking and keep being open to the inspiration that comes in unexpected ways.
Yesterday I listened for answers and went for my walk in a space I hadn’t been to for decades. It was the park I took my children to when they were very small. As I enjoyed the beauty of this space I found some rose shaped seed pods and realized they were just what I needed for my display installation at Richmond Library. I hadn’t consciously asked but had pondered this internally and an unexpected answer came in a lovely way.
Sometimes it means that we need to trust the answer will come even if we are unsure of the question.
What questions are you seeking answers to? Is art still a question in your life or is it something you do regularly... a passion or part of your spiritual practice?
The next layers to discovering my whimsical owl sculptures. Every day is another step forward as I organise my display case installation.
Trusting my intuition as I let the collage play take me the next step.
It is the joy of the process and the discoveries along the way that inspire me to explore and allow the art to emerge. I never really know where the next step will take me as I follow the intuitive wisdom of my little owl guides.
I am part of the Contemporary Art Society of Victoria and they have another exhibition coming up. Saturday 17th is the opening of the A4 Art Australia National Exhibition. It will be a beautiful day on the island and I’m so looking forward to it. Discover Herring Island and enjoy the beautiful art creations.
Every day is a step that takes me closer to my intention. I want to create an installation that is detailed and layered so that the eye is drawn from one image to the next. I chose owls as a focus as they are symbols of wisdom and learning. My challenge is to set up an installation that works as a whole. It I far easier to hang art on a traditional gallery wall but there is more fun in this exploration and space play. 🌀
The brooches are one part of a detailed installation. I will need to decide which ones stay and if ionckude some of the original drawings that were used as the starting point of these brooches. More details and several layers of resin later, the brooch pieces are ready to attach the pins and finish.
The process of layering these brooches has developed into individual mini wearable art that have taken me on an adventure. 🦉
The theme of girls and owl guides is explored as paintings, drawings, mixed media paintings, sculptures and brooches as I prepare for the Richmond Library display case installation. 🦉
Owls are always guidance, learning and connecting to that inner wisdom. They are spirit guides that are companions on your path.
Apart from completing the art I will do a size mock up for the display so I know how the images fit together. Lots of processes and steps to explore as I build the pieces of the installation one day at a time.
This is another art adventure informing my path and leading me into unexpected spaces.

There are so many ways to explore our world and the focus we choose to guide us.
I have been pondering the big idea that runs through all of my art. This is the why question I guess.
What I found was that it was all about connection. I create to connect and share beauty and guidance. I also create because it heals me as I connect with parts of me that have remained hidden or forgotten. 🌀
This art connection invites a space of intuition and inner guidance that ask for trust and a soul ready for an adventure of discovery.
Connection is about interaction, it holds the story that you step into when you connect with an artist and their art. It is a personal connection and a response to something that moves you in some way.
Whether I am painting owls, angels or even flowers, that idea of connection... the feeling it creates ... 🌀
ART is about sharing my unique stories with you as each piece is a Soul part made visible through this explorative adventure of creating.
Art is a path to something more and is often the place where you remember who you are so you can be all you need to be in the outer world. 🌀
Art is a spiritual practice that is not logical or linear but has its own shape that you form as you go along. 🌀
Until this moment I never fully understood why art being called a hobby offended me. It is because it doesn’t matter how long you spend creating... it is a practice that brings you back to you. It is that point of connection... that something more. It is a breathing space that fills you up with openings. Hobby feels like something you do to fill in your personal time. It feels like something that is undervalued that is let go of when times are too busy. 🌀
Art is a practice... a space you create in your life to connect to you and if you desire to connect outwards.
Art is a choice and for some a need but you always decide whether to Novotel it into your life. It is inessential and yet for some they are incomplete without it.
I love that art is hard to define and different for each of us and yet this connection and healer Ng space seems to hold a universal truth.
Love reading your ideas. What is your big art why? Comment⤵️❤️
I am playing with creative spaces. Today I made my Easter card. A beginning to a new adventure as I plan to create seasonal cards but skittle late in this run. Still learning with every new possibility.
Then I moved back to my owl brooches. They are part of my vision for my display case installation at Richmond Library. 🦉
So much learning and exploring. This is the second lot of wooden brooches but this time I’ve taken them further than the angels with more pen work into n top of the hand colouring to add contrast and the the wire and crystals.
I love the ability to play with an idea and trust where it leads. I’ve added wire spirals and crystals to the layered hand coloured pen drawings. 🌀
They are all unique individual art pieces and I love that every one is a unique one of a kind art work and that no 2 are the same.
This idea of the unique space of art is something that continually calls me to keep exploring and playing. Art and life are an amazing adventure. 🌀
Tpmorrow I will add some final details and then a resin coating to insight the pieces. 🙏
I am so grateful for all the opportunities to grow, learn and explore as I step into each new space.
I would love your feedback as I value your opinion. Connect below and tell me what calls to you.
We choose every moment of every day. My intention is to chooses joy more often. 😊
Of course I slip a lot and there are those moments where I catch myself complaining or venting. I choose to know that it is my choice.
I remind myself to choose again as I listen to the whispered guidance... That intuitive voice that suggests a ‘what if?’
What are you choosing today and what spaces are you stepping into that fill you with joy?
Time for photoshop and adding eggs. I’ve decided to make seasonal cards so this is my starting point. I will create some Mother’s Day cards next.
If you want a set of Easter Magic cards I will be selling them on my website... Learning and exploring and enjoying the adventure. I will post my cards tomorrow... #eastercards#easterhare#eastermagic
Finding joy...So many connected moments filled with magic, where time seems to stand still. #💕
Allowing joy in by choosing to notice more of what you love is the path. This small painting reminds me of the magic in connection and guidance that opens us up to our creative, beautiful world. She will be at the Richmond Library display case installation from March 23rd to mid June.
stepping into more joy is a choice to seek those things that give you joy. 🌈
Meditate on the word jo and see what feelings rise up. Laugh out loud often as it really does shift your energy. 😇
The easiest shift towards joy is to smile... my favourite exercise.
Choose to start your day with a smile and as you step out if bed say thank you to the universe and repeat thank you with each step as the gratitude begins to fill you up. A simple waking/walking meditation that begins the day in a connected mindful way.
What one thing do you do daily that brings more joy into your everyday?

Layers ...paint is all about the layers. My hands after painting my owls.🦉 lots of messy fun and vibrant colours. Every day is the next step to create this display cabinet installation. Loving the ideas and possibilities along the way.
Safe in her arms... cradled gently as they travel into those guided spaces together. That guides Ng wisdom that connects us to the opening spaces that step into our healing and allowing. Life is all about those connections and finding the joy waiting for us on those small moments. Exploring owls, guidance and that connection to inner wisdom as I prepare for my Richmond Library display showcase. Owls are such beautiful spirit guides that help us connect to our inner knowing.
