First run in weeks! Ok it was more of a run for 1.5km and walk the rest, but I’m getting back into it post back cracking up on me 🤣 My hyper-mobile lumbar spine became very compressed with my running towards the end of last year, so I’m keeping them short and sweet for now till my abdominals realize they need to continue to work and support even when I’m fatigued! Let’s see how the back pulls up tomorrow 🤞

First run in weeks! Some clients have a goal to ski better on holidays, some want to be able to pick their growing children up, some want to stay active in their older years. The best place to spend a 36 degree Sunday, poolside! Ticked off my 20 laps of the 50m pool, now topping up the tan 😎 I haven’t been able to run recently as the compression has been too much for my lower back (I’m not calling it an injury, I will not call it an injury) so it’s great to have this awesome pool down the street so I can still get a cardio workout in. Front crawl/freestyle, whatever you want to call it, is great for mobilizing the spine with a bit of rotation, and if you focus on it you can get a great workout for the obliques. When I do breaststroke I often add in some beats of the legs as closing, sort of like an entrechat quatre (ballet term) to work the adductors and deep rotators 👌
