We put everyone else before ourselves, we are always thinking of what to do next, what someone else needs, what someone may want....we easily forget ourselves. We forget the importance of "me", sometimes the healthiest thing we can do is focus on our own needs and wants. .
Since having the boys I've gone through various stages of self neglect, slowly forgetting who I am as an individual, my own desires and interests fading away as I focus every ounce of my being on my boys. .
Soon I felt empty, I had my babies, my boys who I loved deeply and dearly....but I was feeling incomplete. Soon I started to work out, I put myself first for 30 minutes twice a week....then 3 times a week. Soon I was spending 5 sessions a week thinking about me and working on myself physically, improving my fitness, my self esteem and my mental health. Then I discovered my beautician - a fellow trainee like myself and she introduced me to lashes.
Now I know it's complete vanity but having my lashes done every 3 weeks is another little moment for me, plus I don't need to faff about with mascara every morning, only for my efforts to be washed away when my eyes water as soon as I step outside - a fantastic trait of mine, I love it 😐
There's nothing wrong with thinking about yourself and your own needs, it's important to recognise that every person has value - even yourself
