I've been stuck in the depths of winter recently and thinking more and more about days like this.

Perfectly tucked away in a silent corner ...Next to the highway, hundreds of other homes and an autoparts store. But still 😋

Three things I miss in the winter in one picture. Road trips, trees with leaves and colour. What do you miss this time of year?

A skiier flying above the clouds in Revy.

With Mt. Begbie in the background. The mountain photographed in my previous post.

Those days where it's always trying to rain gives some of my favorite conditions to take my camera for a walk.

I find night time walks in the snow are very peaceful. I think it's a mix of the silence of snow fall and stillness of the surroundings.

The tiny section in the middle is the town I currently call home and a place I will miss forever and a day. Revelstoke. #therealstoke

This was a very relaxing scene to stand and watch on my birthday. But saying that, I found everything relaxing after soaking in hot springs for hours.

Wish these hot springs were a little closer to the mountain after a day of snowboarding.

Wandered down a few local trails the other morning for some fresh air and photos.

The last of the colour at Bridal Veil Falls.

I rested my camera on the viewing platform to stabilise as much as possible, combined with the lens OIS meant I could set an aperture around f16 and create a slow enough shutter speed to smooth the water out. This is a very non professional way of doing it, but I'm lazy and don't always want to set up my tripod.

Sunset on the parkway was beautiful. Shortly after this we settled down for the night below Athabasca glacier with hopes of a starry night and beautiful sunrise. Unfortunately the temperature dropped well below freezing and snow swept in. Resulting in one the most uncomfortable nights sleep I can remember. Thankfully this sunset far outshines the night in my memories.
