Today just like every other workout was high volume, but on the quads. Most of my lifts and foot placements were meant to target the tops of the legs

My routine has been something like 225 for AMRAP. But today it was moving so easy that I figured why not throw another plate on their. Still hitting depth and finished with a total of 60 reps over 5 sets 💪🏼

Weighed in today at 196 lbs, getting close to my goal weight (army standards) plus it’ll make it easier to run. Feeling like I’m leaning out even with my terrible diet as of late. Let’s see what the next 6 weeks will bring me 💪🏼

Finally back on to posting. Been away for a minute due to an APFT that kept me out of the gym this week until yesterday. Finally back into my routine and going to crush it everyday leading up to my 4 day with my wife and son 🙌🏼

Give this workout a try. I like pairing back and shoulders together once a week because just like chest, there are so many different ways to attack your back and a lot of shoulder exercises coincide with back

I started doing landmine presses because it alleviate that shoulder pain from the standard shoulder press. Still hitting my ROM and working the anterior portion of my delts (and yes this does target your chest a bit too)

Haven’t had a leg day in over a week so it was nice to get in here and attack the quads!

Hit roughly 75 reps on squat, went for 100 reps on extensions and curls, saw this bad boy (hack squat) and needed to give it a run (340 lbs) and finished with some burnouts on the leg press (low stance)
•
Very successful leg day and the legs needed it. Glad to see strength hasn’t left me. I’m thinking that week off have my body time to fully recover and that’s why these pumps have been crazy

A week off from the gym and it’s looking like I still got it. A week full of eating out and not so great DFAC food 😬

Hopefully during these next 8-10 weeks I don’t lose anything and can still make the gains I need. It’s gonna take some careful planning with the meals I’m given

On another note the gym sesh was solid and I couldn’t complain one bit. Not too crowded and was in and out. Still striving for that 190-195 look when it’s all said and done (probably sitting around 200-205 after this past week)

Been gone from my family for a couple days now. Not a long time, but when you have a wife and kid those days seem like eternity. I’ve been deployed and off to school/training many times, but this is a first with having so much back home👪

I know the time will fly and I’ll see them soon, looking forward to my 4 day weekend in a couple weeks and our first real family vacation 🙌🏼

The hardest part is when you have a norm with your kid and watching them grow up everyday and then have to leave. Keep telling myself it’ll all be worth it in the end though!

Also not to mention I haven’t hit the weights in almost a week so my whole routine is out of wack. Hopefully some kind of schedule and back to lifting is in the near future 💪🏼

Gotta keep the body in an active mode constantly burning calories if you want to cut properly. Cardio will become your best friend or be an everyday nightmare. For me, it’s somewhere in the middle 😬

Nothing too crazy to brag about when it comes to my time. I wanted to see if I could even push out a 5 miler since the last time I’ve ran anything over 3 miles was probably back in 2015. I’m what you would call a good runner because of my stride and length of legs, but man do I hate doing it. Weighed in at 202 lbs (weight keeps fluctuating and the pounds aren’t staying off) and I’m happy with what I accomplished especially at this weight 👌🏼

My avg pace is awful mainly because my 1st mile was slow AF (10:21). Always have work to do. Hit me up if you have any questions and tips on cardio and getting time down. I currently do a distance run once a week, steady state cardio twice a week, and 3 days of intervals 🏃🏻‍♂️

My weekly circuit training day with the 20lb vest going balls to the wall. Best time so far and idk if I’m just getting more efficient or if I was just amped up! Took me 30 minutes to run through the whole thing which is 10 minutes faster than last week 🙌🏼

Decided to make good use of my spare time and threw some more weight on the sled, decided to do some rounds on the tire, rope climbed (mastering my technique), and gave myself a minute run through on my pushups (60) and sit-ups (30) all with the vest 💪🏼

Through this added routine I’m noticing huge jumps in my cardio and conditioning, sometimes you gotta change things up from the weights and shock your body. I know a lot of you are doing the @1stphorm transphormation challenge and I suggest if you want to make strides during your 8 weeks, seriously consider adding a circuit day in. You won’t regret it 👌🏼

Took a moment after the chest and tris day to admire the gains. The lighting was spot on and I just wish I had my own photographer. Didn't even train biceps but the pump was real. Not really flexed, just muscles filled up. Getting filthy pumps from this quick lifting with light weight 💪🏼

Chest and tris kinda day. Building horseshoes and fluffing up this bird chest while keeping my core tight with the stability ball

Most weight I've done on the stability ball by far and I was pretty surprised. If you haven't tried this, I recommend giving it a go. It activates little stabilizing muscles that you just can't hit on a sturdy bench
•
When it comes to triceps pull downs, it's important to get that full contraction and flex on the triceps muscle and keep tension the entire time of the exercise. Don't let the plates smash back down and if you really want to feel the burn, do a pause at the bottom of each rep

Now I'm not saying go eat meals like this regularly and throw in excess calories, but you can definitely do this here and there and get results. If you're starting out then I highly suggest doing stuff like this because honestly no one likes just eating chicken, broccoli and rice everyday. That gets boring as hell and isn't a sustainable diet. You'll get tired of eating "healthy" bland food and just quit all together. I see it all the time!

Been having to adjust my workout schedule the past 2 weeks from my usual morning routine. Some mornings I have time to get after it at 5 am, but most I gotta get things together and hit the road. Been busy with packing and getting situated for a move and transitioning so my schedule has been relatively hectic

As of lately I've been on this smoothie kick. We've had a blender for awhile and it has had little use over the time we've had it. I decided that smoothies would be a great way to deter from eating sweets and still get in a ton of nutrients with great taste 😋

1 cup of pineapples
1 cup of blueberries
1 banana
2 scoops of protein

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the arm blaster is a game changer. I've done measurements to see the growth on my arms and it's relatively minimal, but when it comes to form and performing a proper curl this is where it's at. I'm still sitting around 17s (nothing crazy), but the pump you get from this and the illusion of having 22s is what sells me on this 💪🏼

I've been on my new cutting program for roughly 2 weeks now (since the new year) and I'm loving how the reps keep increasing. I've come to the plan of using a comfortable weight and going for as many reps as possible. This is a #personalbest for me when it comes to incline bench. I'm awful at it and I hardly ever go over 185lbs

Second video is something new I tossed in with the stability ball and svend presses are a bread and butter in my opinion when trying to build that man clevage. Again I don't ever go over 10s with this but I had a wild hair and decided 25s were gonna be my weight

As I stated in my story, I don't believe in an actual diet but more so in changes in what you eat that develop into progress and results. No need to torture yourself and setting up something strict to a point that you end up hating it or it feels like a chore

I always tell people, especially resolutioners, to start small. Cut back on how often you eat out, eat dessert, or go after sweets in the middle of the day. Nothing drastic, but small and eventually you'll see results

That's how I started out and I cut things out like alcohol from my life completely, that in my opinion has had a phenomenal impact, but that's not for everyone. Find what works and make it fun. Enjoy life and more importantly enjoy food 😋
