Happy #internationalwomensday !
Thank you @tonner.robert and @tonnerdoll for creating this incredible piece of art. Of WONDER WOMAN. I can’t believe what has happened in the last few years. She has a film! And a masterpiece at that. I remember being a kid and being frustrated there was no female superheroes on merch. Being a geek, I knew all of their abilities and powers and that they equaled or sometimes were better than their male counterparts, and questioned what could be the reason they don’t appear on backpacks and lunchboxes. These questions were answered by so many, spewing trash that basically said powerful females aren’t a thing, that they aren’t good enough...etc. What they really meant was that they threaten fragile masculinity. I’m glad I didn’t fall for it and continued to push until I saw the truth. And wow. Although so much needs to change, the changes that have taken place are incredible. What can I say, I love women. For their contribution to life as we know it. As an artist, women displaying both strength and vulnerability, have always been my muses and inspiration for so much. That said, the least I or any of us could do is support the fight for their equal treatment and respect. Over time, it really becomes easy to say, you know what? I’m a feminist. -
Today was crazy! These gorgeous Selena Quintanilla limited edition shopping bags were released for HEB grocery stores here in Texas and of course the greedy scum make it so hard for other fans. Now they’re being flipped for so much online. Fortunately, I got one for myself and another fan. As a collector of many things for many years, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. I don’t usually complain about scalpers but seeing it in another form reminds me how disgusting some people are. They’re the virus of all collecting communities (this goes for concerts and the like too.) And to the fans that got more than enough (I’ve seen people with 10), I hope you’re willing to help out others that weren’t so lucky. This behavior is completely contrary to Selena’s humble, graceful, queen-like ways and people scalping collector items won’t make you any richer and will only continue to have your life in shambles. Anyway, this doll is by chance on a J.Lo Barbie body, because it has an accentuated 🍑 that they shared in common. Funny how that works. Selena helps J.Lo and J.Lo helps Selena, even if it’s in a tiny minuscule way like this haha. 💜
