Final session before Sunday in the bag. Nice easy 100kg 3x3 squats, 100kg 5x1 bench and 160kg 5x1 deadlift. Whatever happens now, I do want to thank @kc_pl for being an excellent coach and helping me along in every way!
Penultimate session before competition today. Worked up to last warmups for squat and bench. 180 squat looking about the best I've ever done it which is nice, then 150 for a back-off set of 5. Bench at 120 with commands kindly delivered by @clare.mairead then a set of 5 at 100. Finished up with some deadlifts for 3x3 at 130 so I don't forget how to do it...
Penultimate session before a deload prior to the @nwpowerlifting Spring Open - it's needed! 150 for 3x3 pause squat, 100 for 3x5 spoto bench (I know you can't see it's spoto, you'll have to trust me...), finished with 130 for 5x3 deadlifts - tried to make them pretty since it's too easy to get lazy when you're fatigued and it's a low weight.
Nice session but definitely needing that deload coming next week... 190 single squat followed by 170 for 5 (rep PB 🎉). Easy light bench at 80 for 5x3 and Marc (@neander_tall ) PB for deadlifts, 3x3 at 130.
Didn't go EXACTLY as planned, but I did 230 for the double again, which is what was programmed. Need to get the 1st rep as good as the 2nd 😂 Just try harder I guess, clearly capable! Happy with the result and almost ready for @nwpowerlifting Spring Open. Thanks for telling me to just fucking do it @kc_pl 😏
Good day!! 182.5 pause squat feeling smooth and strong, followed by 170 for 5, which was tough but doable! Light deads at 5x3 for 130 and finished with first ever attempt at spoto press, 100 for 3x5. Went alright I think! There was also some face pulls for 4x12. Come at me Spring Open.
Not a bad session. Did some pause squats at 100 not shown here then bench for 128x2 - it could definitely have been three if the platform wasn't slippery, my feet kept sliding on the damn thing. Keeping tension like that is not easy. Then did 110x7. Was meant to be 6 but I lost count! Finished with 192.5 deadlifts for 3x3. These went well considering the CNS raping that was Tuesday 😂
Not exactly what I went for tonight, but resilience is almost as important as achievement. Probably still fatigued from the weekend - lesson learned there. Did 100 for 5x3 squat then deadlifts 70x3, 120x1, 170x1, 200x1, 215x1, 230x2 attempt but only get one. Change technique back to a single instead of 2 stage movement, 200x1 again, 215x1 again and 230x1 again, but better. Move forward now.
Massive shout out to Arun over at @sbdapparel . Just went over at the Women's classic last weekend and told him about a very minor issue I was having with my SBD belt buckle and without any quibble he took my details and sent me a new one express post - even throwing in a new t-shirt and got the right size! Top customer service right there, thanks SBD and Arun.
Massive congratulations to all the #teamNW @nwpowerlifting lifters and to everyone that made this weekend go so amazingly for everyone at the Women's British Classic Championships.
We saw some extremely strong lifting across the whole weekend with friendly, good-natured rivalry and a passion for this sport, making it the best it can be for all!
Lastly, a massive shoutout to everyone from @goodladspowerlifting who pitched in and helped out as we always do at these events. Go team - don't know what I'd do without you.
Pause squats today, 177.5 single and then 2x3 167.5. First rep of the backoffs wasn't exactly paused, but sod it. Close grip bench at 110 for 3x5 felt ok and then I just about remembered how to time my deadlifts for 5x3 at 130.
127.5x3 bench was always going to be a big ask after setting it as a double PB last week. So instead we did it for 2x2 and then set a volume PB of 105x8. Bench was feeling good tonight. Boring squats, 3x3 paused. Deadlifts, I just over thought them tonight, I didn't like how they looked, coach said they were fine though, so eh. 177.5 for 3x3, wasn't difficult.
You have those days where your squats move ok, but you still feel like death under them? 185 top single followed by 172.5 for 3x3. Bench was just 80 for 5x3. Deadlifts I had a bit of an experiment with separating my shoulder set from moving the hips down - previously I'd been doing them at the same time and the timing was slightly off sometimes which meant the bar would be knocked out of place by my shins - gonna persist with this new new idea and see how it works when we go heavy again.
A short but sweet session today before @ploeynase runs his class. Nice and easy 100kg for 5x3 squats, warmed up my hips for a slightly off piste 3rm deadlift PB! 🎉 New tekkers is getting better every session and was meant to have 217.5 for a double tonight but a triple felt there so I took it. 7.5kg triple PB. Sorry @kc_pl .
Massive thanks to the lifting crew helpers today at the first round of the GP Club League at Fighting Fit. It went pretty much without a hitch, you guys are awesome!
