Living a minimalist life inevitably nudged me into learning about zero waste lifestyle. ♻️ I’ve always been conscious about what I bring into my home but now I’m also conscious about what I take out to the trash.
No more synthetic sponges that I have to throw away every couple of weeks.
No more plastic straws.
Happy #WorldWaterDay ! 💧
20% of global freshwater pollution comes from textile dyeing 💧
Clothes (mostly synthetic materials) are #1 source of microplastic release into the ocean accounting for 34.8% of the global amount 💧
Water consumed by the fashion industry today is enough to fill nearly 32 million Olympic size swimming pools 💧
Every minute, the equivalent of a dump truck of plastic enters the ocean
In 2050 it is estimated that there will be more plastic than fish by weight
#ReduceWaterWaste by buying more environmentally made clothes that for example have a closed loop water recycling scheme, washing better (shorter times, less heat, air dry), get a @stopmicrowaste washing bag and #ReducePlasticWaste by getting a reusable bottle to fill up, it's easier, cheaper and better for the environment. World Water Day is an opportunity to reflect on the essential element for the development of life.
Protecting water means planting trees to replenish forests, reconnect rivers to floodplains, restore wetlands, avoid over-exploitation of water resources.
Orb Media at the State University of New York has shown that in 93% of the bottled water analyzed in nine different countries there are #microplastic (polypropylene, nylon and polyethylene terephthalate) that are unknowingly assimilated by consumers... Water is a vital asset to be defended.
I’m so in love with these textiles, each #zerowaste#goddess#tunic is made from different found fabrics, which makes them all unique!!!! I’m excited to be letting these #new ones free at the #aparima harvest festival this weekend!!!! I hope they are ready for some conversations they’ve never had before!!!! Shame I haven’t had time to finishe any of the red hemp/organic cotton ones on the left yet though, I am taking some leggings and bike shorts though to test the market!!! #muchexcite
So excited to be featured in @theregenerationmag’s Issue no. 3. This issue features so many other great leaders in the sustainable fashion movement and is going to be an amazing source of inspiration and motivation for us all to clean up the fashion industry! 🌎🌿

Also, a gigantic thanks to @lucas_c_homer for helping me share my story and reminding me on a daily basis that what I’m doing is worth it and is making a difference.
#ANewerKatIn MILAN on the blog today! Talking about where I stayed (how cute is this rooftop?), where I ate traveling internationally as a vegan for the first time, and what I did in my favorite city! ✈️ //
#secondtrimester capsule wardrobe. It’s easy to be minimal when nothing fits 🙈🐳
No but really. The really deep maternity advice I have for you is that no one cares if you wear the same outfit every day. No one cares!
For my first pregnancy I might have spent too much money on very maternity specific clothes. I gave them all away but it still feels wasted because pregnancy is really such a short time in the scheme of life (even with more than one baby!).
This time anything ‘new’ has been either gifted or secondhand - and most of it isn’t specifically maternity. Just looser / bigger so I can wear it after.
The two maternity things I have are @jessicasimpson jeans from @poshmark and a @blanqigirls top (also poshmark).
