It was a day like all the rest, chores, work, practice and some meetings...-
In the past I remember asking myself, if I would ever remember and if I did, would it really make a difference?-
I had let go of the idea of remembering, years ago and just tried to find a way to move onward.-
As time continued and my world expanded I thought very little of that time of my life. Until recently when some events triggered the channel. -
And then, It came, it was like a slow moving picture, attached to distinctive smells. All in the same, I was me but then I also saw me.-
With the tickling sensation of awakening from a dream, compacted with fear, sadness and a chilly grip on my throat...but you see I was not awakening from a dream in the common sense. -
There I was in the middle of class, Stopped right in my tracks. -
One breath at a time, I breathed through the pockets of tension, like any time I’m practicing asana. But this time the posture was burned onto my retinas. -
Did it change anything? -
Today, I can breath much deeper and for now that is what I am grateful for. -

Bienvenida Primavera!
I'm guilty of judging my journey according to other people's perception of success. I'm also guilty of comparing my journey to others' journeys. The more I do it, the more ashamed of what I (foolishly) think I have failed to achieve. Self doubt is a stagnant pool to swim in.
So, yoink! I'm plucking out that weed, that inner critic. In its place: remembring what is important to me in life. I am inspired by and passionate about what I do. This is success. My life is full of people who I love ❤ and who love me. Yep, success. I find time to pursue a hobby 🏄 that makes me feel strong, empowered and free. Oh hey there success! I find wonder in the world around me, and I stop to smell the roses ✨🌹✨ erry day. Check - success.
Here's a promise to myself - to keep my eyes on my own path, and to celebrate my successes. 👊🙌 Thanks for reading 😊

🌵🌵🌵 I found #RoosterPose or #kukkutasana tutorial from @yogawesermarsch. Since #Lotus position and L-Sit are already in my yoga practice, I thought I could combine those two in rooster pose. But this pose is very challenging. 😖
What is yoga for you? For me, yoga is a lifesaver, truly. After I started recovering from ten years battel with anorexia, I really needed something to fill that huge emptiness the disorder had left behind. And to fill that hole, I found ashtanga. I found a warm hearted yoga community, where I could be the incomplete and fragile person I at that time was .I owe a lot to ashtanga and especially to my dear teacher, who taught me firmly and wisely. This man did not only taught me the asanas, he also taught me how to change my negative mind and to belive in myself.
Because in the end the biggest obstacles are in our mind. What we think, we become.
"Yoga is mind medicine" The best medicine.
The past few weeks have been a whirlwind. ✨ Filled with incredible new opportunities, new people and some personal break throughs. My heart is filled with love and gratitude. I never dreamed I would have this amazing support and creative outlet just through yoga and @instagram. I’m finally doing something I love that has a growing future! So thank you 🤗 I simply can’t expresses my appreciation enough! 🙏

When you have your handstand game on. Then your teacher says...now try to drop your head through. And you stack it a million times. 🙄 And are reminded through humility that the process is the goal, not the end result. Paraphrased but "Because one day, we won't be able to do any of these things anymore, so don't attach so completely to them." Thank you thank you to @yogamisfit today for the words that always resonate so truthfully. Always grateful to you as my teacher of honesty, self discipline and ego stripping. ❤️The ongoing lessons of this asana practice are so beautifully woven into my every day life.
The Journey Inwards workshop is back on Sat 24th March at @yogaexperiencejozi R550 per person or R475 for group bookings of 3 or more. Come learn about the psychology of your yoga practice. Come learn how to Move your body, Feel your emotions and Transform your life. Bookings are essential, DM me to reserve your spot or chat to Anni at the front desk.

Yoga is not about good poses but about how you live the life in a good way 🙏🏼 Thank you too @tyaanindita for the video

*Lower body-focused sun salutation*: when I’m craving a fun sun salutation flow, but I want to bias the work toward the lower body vs. the upper body, I do this! (Video sped up 2x)
. . .
When I teach this in class, I’m sure to lead my students slowly and with control through all of the transitions, and they end up working so hard that they literally don’t even notice that we didn’t do any vinyasas 😂
. . .
This is a great flow for people who are wanting to temporarily avoid wrist weight-bearing too 👍🏼
. . .
If you’d like to actually practice to me leading this sun salutation flow, we do this in my Mellow Steady Flow practice in my online class library!
. . .
Find my class library on my website - it’s only 899 pennies a month (and you can cancel anytime). There are 60+ super smart, movement science-based yoga classes in the library - and it’s growing all the time. See you there! 💙
