I’ve been holding anger towards myself, judging my practice, my body & allowing my ego to show up and keep adding fuel to the thoughts. What my body wants is love & acceptance, it’s stronger than I even realise and allows me to move in ways that I didn’t think were possible. It supports me and is a part of me in this life. So from today I will love each part of it and accept it all, at the same time I will show it the love it deserves and keep it strong & healthy.🌟💓🌟💓🌟💓🌟💓🌟💓🌟💓🌟💓🌟💓🌟💓🌟💓🌟#glowwithpriya#lovestartswithyou#loveyourself#healthylife#bestrong#yogalove#yoga#acceptance#bodypositive#youareenough
Sometimes we don’t need to over-complicate our practice. I sometimes begin my own yoga practice with simple yet effective movements. ❤️🙏🏻 @ the gorgeous Samsara Mind & Body studios. Look online for class schedules 💜 #keepitsimple#yogalove#morningyoga#yogaeverydamnday
Meet The Team - Clara Lopez 🙏🏻 You may have seen this fun loving face behind the desk or next you on the mat in classes at the studio!
At Yoga West, we pride ourselves on having a team that are practicing yogis and who hold a deep love for yoga and well-being.
Our lovely receptionist Clara is one these people and we wanted to share a little more about her journey through yoga and to Yoga West:
Was there a moment when you realised that you wanted to pursue yoga seriously?
One day I was on my way to the studio and I suddenly realised how happy I was. I felt peaceful and I understood that for once, I was in control. In control of my feelings and emotions and the insight that only I am responsible for my life.
I understood straight away what a beautiful world it would be if only we all decided to be happy. How could I not share it?
You can read more about her by heading to our website link in bio and heading to our blog page ☝🏻
We are so thankful and happy that Matt Giordano accepted our invitation and visited Bulgaria for the first time to teach 4 amazing classes at Yoga Vibe Sofia! Thank you Matt and all the yogis who shared the energy of their practice with us. It was an amazing weekend! #Namaste !
Yesterday, I experienced one of the most magical moments of my life. I walked home in the night, breathing in the brisk winter air, gazing at the clear sky full of sparkling stars. The moon sat low, seemingly touching the rooftop of the next house. Then it happened: A shooting star, as big and as close as I have never seen before, passed right in front of my eyes.
I stared in the night sky with my mouth open. I couldn't believe what had just happened.
This ones for my lady friends (although guys can do this too!). I usually take a break from my vinyasa-based practice during the first few days of my cycle. But I don’t skip yoga completely, because there are some restorative and yin-like sequences that can be quite helpful (and soothing) during this time.
It’s common to feel blotted during ones menstrual cycle. The swelling in the abdomen area can sometimes also cause lower back pain, especially during the first few days of the cycle. I like to use a bolster or a firm pillow (slightly longer than your upper body) as support for these restorative poses. The firmness of the bolster helps to create pressure in the abdomen area when folding the body forward. And in poses where the spine is extended, it provides much needed support for the lower back.
A few things to note:
1️⃣ In poses where the bolster is used to support the front body (eg 1 & 4), make sure to squeeze the bolster in as close to the belly as possible. The pressure of the firm bolster against the belly provides a nice relief.
2️⃣ In poses where the bolster is used as a support for the back (eg 2, 3 & 7), make sure the hip remains firmly on the ground. The bolster should start from the lower back with the intention of lifting the chest without compressing the lower back.
The easiest way to get out of the pose is to roll over to the side, off the bolster. Then use the palms to gently lift the body up.
Pose 6️⃣: Make sure hips are not completely rested on the bolster. Press the feet to the ground in order to lift from the hips.
Pose 8️⃣: To get into the pose, lay on the floor with the back against the floor, hips as close to the wall as possible. Then bend knees and move them to one slide. Use your hands to shimmy the hips forward until the butt touches the wall, but hips remain on the floor. If the hips start lifting, then inch away from the wall until the hips can remain grounded. Once in a comfortable distance from the wall, simply turn the knees back towards the chest and raise the feet up, resting them on the wall. Feel free to micro bend the knees.
Hope this helps! ❤️
Dinner last night with @melania_bejar lovely dad and @the_iron_yogi . So much fun trying to communicate using Google translate and reading body language. Of course we got a little help as well, but for me it was good reminder how nice it is to connect and really listen with the heart , as opposed to relying on only the spoken word 💜💜🙏🏻 .

I’m on the fifth day of my #42daypromise and so far so good! 💪🏼 I’m really enjoying my little flows. It’s not anything fancy but lately, after such a long break from yoga, my body really craves some gentle flows, lot of breathing and gentle transitions. So I’m just giving it what it wants 🙌🏻
Oh and yes, I would really like to get back into yoga challenges, haven’t done any in a year. So if you have any suggestions - tag me, send it to me, anything. I would be really thankful 🤗
