Daily YOGA inspiration 🙏 @talonyoga
Progress is not achieved by luck or accident, but by working on yourself daily. My yoga practice has evolved so much from this picture in 2015 to now. Not nearly as much physically as mentally. Yoga has brought me far more clarity, peace of mind, patience and vitality than it has changed my physical body. Thankful for my daily yoga practice and progress. 🙏

My yoga practice taught me how to keep my peace. It started with the small stuff, learning to not panic in moments of discomfort in my physical body. Eventually it expanded into other areas of my life, learning how to stay relaxed in situations that would usually cause me to stress out. But now I am realizing that while it is important to stay chill, it is equally important for me to speak up. I am a peace keeper, I want everyone to be happy. And most of the time that means communicating through difficult emotions and not just “staying chill.” I’m still learning to navigate through this in all of my relationships, but it feels good to be moving away from identifying as a people pleaser and moving into the role of listening and communicating as well as standing my ground. #changeisgood 📷 @karmacaptures in @aloyoga

Alright. Ok. Enough. I actually have rug burn on my arm from the yogapaw slipping off again and again and AGAIN. I can get my foot there no problem but before I can extend that other leg it goes sliding off. This challenge was supposed the be fun! 😩😩 #YogiHowdYouDoThat3 .

#ProgressYourPractice starts tomorrow, & our sequence for Day 1 leads up to the peak pose of sugarcane. I’m still being a bit cautious with recovering & all, so Katie @the.home.practice swapped poses with me, & I’m now bringing you triangle
➡️ Triangle Pose #omniyogagirltips
Have your feet 3-4 feet apart, with the back foot angled at 45 degrees, & the front foot parallel with the long edge of the mat. The benefits of this pose come from the side stretch... Think about keeping your body in one plane, so that if you had your back against a wall, the whole of the back of your body would be touching it. I think a good guide is to slide your hand down the leg, stopping at the point where you start leaning your torso forward & losing that straight line. Once you’re in the pose, imagine long lines of energy reaching out through your legs, arms & spine. Create length, & space as you stabilise the pose by pulling your core in, & keeping the legs engaged. 🌟 Leggings: @niyama_sports #niyamaambassador Top: @omsoulshop Mat: @liforme 🌟

Our emotions evolve with us as we grow. To communicate with others but more to communicate with ourselves.
We often loose the sight of this communication when they arise, moving from emotion to reaction without having a moment to see the connection in between.
The place where choice resides.
When you start to feel emotions how often do you automatically find yourself saying I am sad or I am angry?
Becoming the emotion.
What if instead you changed the verbiage to I am feeling sad, I am feeling anger, or I am feeling upset, to then bring the awareness beyond labeling yourself.
Emotion is real, it’s happening, but it is not you.
It is not a definition of you.
These emotions are not who we are, especially in the moments when they feel the heaviest and hardest.
Emotion is something that is happening and that is asking to be looked at from a broader spectrum.
Beyond the definition to the function.
Emotions don’t just happen because you are too emotional or not emotional enough, they are the signs underneath the layers of each of us.
They are the signs within us to find a deeper cause, to see between emotion and reaction to the deeper driver of what created the emotion to spark within you in the first place.
Be lighter with yourself. 🔅

"My dear, especially when its hard, you need to feed that inner flame inside your belly. Your soul has made a promise with your heart, to be all that you are in every instance, never less. Anything less than your wild fire is not you. It’ll weaken, you’ll just flicker, and you’re kidding yourself if you think you won’t burn out after you’ve smothered yourself to make yourself smaller, colder for others. 🔥

This is me in the best bit of my day...right after my swim, right before I teach. Hair half dry, goggle marks and swim cap lines, chlorine fumes still on my skin, muscles achy and tired. That few minutes where I just finished doing what I love and am getting ready to do the other thing I love. Tired and happy. 🏊♀️❤️🧘🏻♀️
