The beginnings of yoga can be dated back to India over 5,000 years ago where it was first mentioned in the oldest sacred texts. Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice that is popular with adults and children across the world #staywildfestival

The last topic of discussion of the #alogivesxglow challenge is ✨illumination ✨
I hope I have the right words to describe my feeling about this. And even if I don’t, hey I’ll give it my best shot 🧘🏻♀️
So obviously I feel illuminated by the practice of yoga and the practice of teaching yoga. For me that IS what fills my cup and I am always humbled by the experience of guiding people through movement and breath in their own bodies. I love to give people this gift and to hold the space to allow them to be present with themselves. On the flip side, being a full time yoga teacher can have its challenges, the other day my dog of three years old had to be put down because of an awful and violent medical condition. The next day I had to teach three power flow classes. My cup was absolutely running on empty and although not one of the students knew what had happened, I could feel the space being held for me. The space for me to let go and to be in the moment with them. So the illumination of yoga, for me, is a two way street. I feel illuminated by the teachings and all the help and space I can give as a teacher but also feel illuminated by the kindness and space handed back to me. 💕🌿

It's been a little while since I hosted a challenge, but had such a blast slaying it with Shereen and Verna in round one that we figured why not go for another : #namaslayallday2 .
Día 1: throwing #toestand out there to kick us off.
This isn't a pose I practice particularly often (read: I never practice it 😆) and honestly it's a pose I sometimes see cool pictures of, but then I go to do it and I can never seem to get the shot I'm looking for.
Naitra especially was not impressed here; she just wanted me to throw her that pine cone. 😂 .
What is your opinion about toe stand?
Can't wait to see the creative variations you all come up with. (Give me some ideas for the next time I have to do a toestand picture, jajaja 😚😉)

One of the most important lessons I have learnt in life through all the setbacks, health scares, emotional disappointments, hurdles, pain.... But when finishing a yoga flow one cannot express the amount of gratitude I feel in my life; amidst all of the misfortune I faced throughout it. Because I come to realise they were not really misfortunes at all. They were the building blocks that led me to become the person I am today. On a new road with a stronger mission and purpose. Yoga would not have led me to realise the strength I actually embody without the misfortunes I faced that led me down this path..... illness would not have led me to appreciate and love the amount of care that was bestowed to me to then give back by having a whole new career turn.... People please remember, whatever setbacks and pain you are faced with I want you to remember to take a step back, close your eyes, just breathe and remember that pain is not forever. Take control of your destiny because when you do all of those misfortunes and everything you lost in the past will all make sense in the end.... #afteryoga#justbreathe#gratitude#blessed#yogainthepark#newbeginnings#believe#nevergiveup#thoughtoftheday#embracetheday#embracelife#youarelimitless#fearless#warrior#yougotthis#spreadinglight#spreadinglove
