We spend so much of our time taking care of everyone else around us - our partners, our coworkers, our kids, our pets, our friends, our families, etc. Remember that you can not pour from an empty cup so when you start to feel drained, take it as a sign to step back and refill your own cup by spending time to do things that fill your heart with happiness. `

I’ve been a fan of Madam C.J. Walker’s story for a long time. I went to IUPUI and walked by her namesake theatre many times. She was a marginalized woman, rising and building community through courage and generosity. Her impact on the Indianapolis community is massive and to ignore that is to miss a huge part of our history.
The facts though are these: how do we hold spaces for people and their stories. How do we empower those who are marginalized to speak their truth. How do we appreciate and never appropriate. How do we take our privilege and use it to help others. How do we hold space, respect no, and stop asking people to correct our own tunnel vision and privilege?
There is a lot going on in the yoga community both globally and even locally. There’s a lot more going on culturally and politically. I recognize my own privilege. I also recognize where I don’t have privilege. The answer remains, as our @indianapolis_cm speaker said today: we must be courageous and generous.
I’m here to hold space. I’m here to listen and evolve. I’m here to love you. I’m here to be the best ally I can be and will be doing that by shutting up, listening, and support you any way I can. I don’t want the ownership for my evolution and support to be your job, but if I need to adjust I welcome feedback.

I have dived right into new forms of training. Both in terms of fitness and of mind training through meditation. Finding the motivation and forcing myself to either sit still to meditate or move my body through exercise can be a challenge some days. That is where "training" and/or "practice" comes in. Our bodies and minds are pliable. Bad habits and patterns might be deeply ingrained in us, but with constant small bursts of healthy intentions and behaviors we can begin the rewiring process. We live in a culture of speed, everything is desired and expected instantly. Cultivate patience and forgiveness for yourself when you don't get the results you want overnight. You're not supposed to. You are important. You are valuable and worth the investment of even a few minutes a day to either sit in meditation or sweat it out or both. ❤

I was reborn at the same time when the studio78 was born.
I found myself in yoga after the messy life, and growing at studio78.
Through the time i met this man @trentaknox at studio78, and starting the new life, growing more in the yoga, the path that i choose (i hope i can growing more in yoga,of course.) But i believe that there is no coincidental in this universe. Everything has purpose. You were born on this earth, meet people, have journey of life; are 'set up' by the universe, that sometimes we called it our destiny.
Keep going, be stubborn of your positive thought, be kind, and let the universe do the rest. 😌🙇 Special Thanks for @yanialwi @ljusuf @studio_78_padang and all the members for make me find myself and my path. For sure, The root that i will not forget when i grow up and fly away from the root.

Not sure which is worse, little cliques that start in 1st grade, or the parents who do the same. I never really fit into any clique, Ever. Since childhood, I’ve always buzzed around all the different groups; and continued down the same path throughout life. It saddens me to see little cliques forming so early on. Interested to know if this stems from the parents or if it’s just a natural occurrence in our society? Any who, cliques are boring (imo), who wants to hang with the same people all the time?! Blah! Our differences make us more interesting. Which leads me to question why we criticize one another, especially from a physical place? Social media can be a very cruel place, especially for our younger generation. I’m sooo glad I didn’t grow up with social media. It’s such an influence on our children and it can suck! So much pressure to be, act, look a certain way. No thanks! Happy my friends had to pick up a phone to check on me. Ride a bike to see if I was home or wanted to play OUTSIDE! Miss the days when the entire neighborhood of kids gathered together and let our imaginations get the best of us. When the street lights coming on where the signal it was time to go home. Drinking out of the hose when we were thirsty. Not telling our parents we were bored bc 1) they weren’t home 2) they just weren’t our source for entertainment and 3)they were boring! Now our fences are taller than our homes and we hardly even know our neighbors.. How do we reverse this? Sorry for the rant..just my thoughts on this gloomy Friday!🌻
