So, it’s not that the exercises on the right are bad or useless. It’s not that simple and they have their place in a good program.

They just aren’t priority.

That day you only have 20 minutes to workout and you really wanna do your butt good? Skip the stuff on the right that day.

There’s a time and place to get a pump and feel the burn, but chances are things will go better for you if you get it mainly with exercises on the left.

And chances are your work with the moves on the right will be more beneficial if you’re already strong with the ones on the left.

And not the other way around.

Pull yourself in to good shoulder health! If in doubt when training always go for pull / rear chain exercises over push. Train the muscles you can’t see. The most common issues for my clients are shoulder pain, shoulder mobility, poor shoulder or upper back posture or a weak lower back. This is from poor day job working positions (desk job or driving) or over training of the chest and biceps. The majority of these problems can be solved from working the muscles down the back, glutes and hamstrings. A strong rear chain will almost prevent all of the issues above. So next time you hit the gym, see how many pull variations you can do. Here’s just a few I commonly use with clients. Bonus tip. By training the larger muscle groups in the back and hamstrings this will also have a bigger impact on altering body composition over training small muscles like biceps and pecs. 💥 Lying leg raises, 12 reps
💥 Clamshells with elevated feet, until failure (I can usually only get about 6-8)

❌ Don’t get me wrong, a little elbow flare is fine, but don’t let it get excessive to the point where this top picture is. This issue is mainly due to going too heavy on this movement. Your bodies natural instinct to compensate the weight overload will be to shift it outwards and onto the elbows. .
Not only will this put a dangerous amount of stress on your joints, but it will also take away from that muscle tension on the triceps. So yeah, it’s pretty much a lose lose scenario.

✅ To fix this, keep those suckers nice and tucked. Drop the ego, and select a lighter weight to do so. I typically only use dumbbells ranging anywhere from 50-65 lbs depending on how I’m feeling that day. I don’t necessarily ALWAYS use as extreme of a tuck as I am here, but I really wanted to get the point across easily here with a clear differentiation between the two pictures illustrated above. .
Don’t stress if they flare out a little bit, just don’t let it get extreme.

What did you train today? 🤷🏼‍♀️
After a couple days of traveling and many hours on a bus.....leg day was needed! I always appreciate my workouts after a couple days of very little activity. 
Four tough exercises I incorporated in my workout today:
Dumbbell goblet squats: 4 sets x10
-heavy dumbbell for maximum intensity and notice I don’t completely come up out of the squat at the top, this focuses on the front of the leg.
Directly into...
Plate bodyweight squats: 4 sets x20
-here the heels are placed on the end of the plate to help keep the tension on the front of the legs.
OH MY QUADS! 🔥
Barbell walking lunges: 4 sets x20 strides -I focused on keeping myself low to keep maximum tension on the leg muscles, always be sure your toes follow your knees but do not go ahead of them. You can use dumbbells by your sides if you feel more comfortable that way. 
Dumbbell lying hamstring curl: 4 sets x10 reps with a hold
-don’t forget the hold here, once you return your legs back towards the floor hold it at peak contraction before dropping. Notice the tempo (or pace) I am using as well!
Leg extensions: 4 sets x30 (ttl)
-this is done as a combination of foot placements to focus on all portions of the quads. I first start with my toes pointed out to focus on interior (10 reps) then move to toes pointed together to focus on outer sweep of the quad (10 reps) and then lastly toes pointed forward (10 reps).
FYI, these exercises will bring your heart rate up significantly. It had me hugging and puffing!
Incorporate these exercises in your next leg workout and enjoy the burn!!

If you go get a therapist to work on you, and all that gets worked on is the site of "pain" or better yet, what's "tight" you're getting pampered and not treating the global 🌎 pattern. -

Let me explain something to you, it's all tight. Take a look at the illustration and you'll see the orientation of the tissue in the front is "tight" and tissue in the back is "tight". However, the front is locked into a shortened position; meaning the tissue is bunched up. The tissue in the back is locked long, meaning it's lengthened and strained.🤓

Rotational Medicine Ball Wall Throw:

This rotational medicine ball workout will train your core, obliques and abdominals to strengthen the muscles associated with your spine. By performing this medicine ball throw you will be improving core functionality which will improve movement patterns when neutral spine is maintained throughout the exercise. This workout with a ball should be included in your workout routine for anyone, especially athletes whose sports movements is primarily rotational.

How to do the Medicine Ball Wall Throw:
1. Stand facing 90 degrees away from the wall, in a slightly staggered stance.
2. Holding the ball in both hands, reach the ball back toward the hip of the back foot.  Rotate at the hips and throw the ball sideways as hard/fast as you can, extending the arms.
3. As you throw, bring back your footfoward and switch to face the other direction.
4. Catch, absorbing shock by rotating your hips back to the start position and flexing your arms.
5. Throw the ball against the wall and switch back to the first side. Keep rotating and alternating back and forth.
