Today I’m doing 30 minutes of meditation (much more than my usual 10) because the lasting effects of meditation seep into our daily lives and have long lasting effects - more than just effects in the moment.

Hey friends, did you know one of the most EFFECTIVE exercises for your abdominals is the crunch?! It is a small but mighty exercise and great for strengthening your core AND decreasing your risk of back injury! When performing these exercises, make sure you exhale when you are coming up (or the harder part of the exercise) and inhale on the way down (the easier part of the exercise). There are many variations for this exercise but I am going to give you THREE to start. Once you have mastered a level, feel free to move to the next.
Level 1 – crunch with hands across chest.
Level 2 – crunch with hands behind head. (If you choose this position, make sure your head is resting in your hands and avoid pulling on your neck)
Level 3 – arms extending overhead. In this position, try and keep arms in line with your ears.
Begin with 8 – 12 reps, then extend your arms overhead and stretch for 15 seconds and repeat the sequence. Do this 3x.
This momma saw 5:15am on the clock this morning! Ummm, and it is a holiday Monday for us. Which means I could have slept in. .
In fact, if you had even told me a year ago I would be proud of myself for waking up so damn early, I legit would have laughed out loud and maybe even rolled my eyes in my mind. 😂
But people change! 🙋♀️ and this morning? I was damn proud. And guess whose little body nestled in beside me when I was Meditating? Our early bird. Colby. He literally sat beside me and started to meditate. I kept looking out of the corner of my eye spying on him. .
It was all about gratitude. It was all about receiving,
This guided mediation. (Thank you AAngela Kontgen🙏). I had tears of pure joy streaming down my face. (And then realized I was NOT meditating 😂). But that was ok. It is the practice I am committed to forming that has changed so much in my life. So this morning spying on Colby was my meditation. .
At the end Colby told me he loved that. I asked if it was hard. He said “no, I just cleared my mind”. #oldsoul . I asked “want to do this again with me?” “Not every day mom... but most days ... yes”. .

So with that??? I want to model health. And happiness. And healthy habits and routines. I am committed to building a lifetime body, MIND AND SOUL. .
That means consistently being kind to a body that beautifully birthed two little humans. A body and mind that in the past I wasn’t always very kind to. Committed to building a body I can grow old in and keep up with my incredible littles and my husband, and building our life. My mind, my soul ... My temple. Reminding myself daily this is the only one I have got. .
Gone are the days of diets. Gone are the days of being slave to the scale. Today I feel blessed that I am viscerally happy, content and passionate about helping people also on their journey as long, hard and dark as our journeys can be. .
As my shirt says “the light in me loves the light in you” ... Let’s build a lifetime body, mind and soul? Not for a reason, a season or an occasion. Deal ????
