And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. – Romans 8:28 ESV
Have you ever wanted to try a new recipe, but when you looked at all the ingredients required for cooking you changed your mind? Maybe you felt that it was going to take too much of your time or maybe it was going to cost more then you anticipated.
The great thing about God is that regardless of what it takes, there is no length that he won’t go to create us into who He has called us to be. It does not matter how many things we do right or even how many things that we do wrong; He never changes his mind about us. He uses the good, the bad, and the ugly to make us into His image. He will take the broken pieces of our lives and create a masterpiece.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for loving us in spite of us. We realize that we can’t do this without your help. May we pursue after you to find the purpose for which we were created. In Jesus Name, I pray. Amen.

#CTFDistributionTeam38 spent the day at the @habibiworks maker space. It was a wonderful time of chatting, making art, sharing a meal and making friends. We happily floated around from area to area - the wood shop, the sewing area, drawing, and making bracelets with the children. It was so nice to see people just enjoying themselves - feeling free to sit and read, or use a computer, or play ping pong.
One very sweet young girl sat quietly making bracelets, completing one and then giving it away. She told us about her family and about how happy she was to be starting school soon. I showed her photos of my dog 🐶 and the snowy ❄️ landscape where I live and of moose visiting my garden. She told us about her time in a crowded camp on one of the islands, describing it in the same calm matter-of-fact manner as when sharing the ages and names of her brothers.
The bracelets she made for us will remind us of the special time we shared, even if so brief. It is these moments, these tiny connections that will stay with us...sometimes thought of with sadness but mostly with fondness and with hope. 💜♥️ .

▪️Because the United States choosing to not regulate the products we slather on ourselves everyday is no longer okay. ▪️Because the EU bans over 1300 ingredients, Canada over 600, and the United States of America 29 ▪️Because 1938 was a long time ago and not having passed major regulation since and only having tested 10% of ingredients used in our products is pathetic ▪️Because we are learning more and doing better. ▪️Because we are speaking up and sharing with each other. ▪️Because our health matters and we are no longer willing to make sacrifices we don’t need to make. ▪️Because Beautycounter’s growth is staggering and has therefore proven that regulation, doing good, and profitable business can coexist

Lots of people from all walks of life enjoy shopping in our Mission Shops, but did you also know, when you shop with us, every dollar you spend goes directly back in to your community to help Northern Tasmanians in need?
As a not for profit charity, all funds raised through City Mission’s social enterprise activities, such as our Mission Shops, help support Northern Tasmanians in need of emergency relief, family support, crisis accommodation, drug & alcohol recovery, youth mentoring and childhood trauma, grief and loss. Last year we were able to provide 30,000 meals through City Kitchen and Morton’s Place and help over 10,000 people through our services, including more than 300 children with our Inside Out 4 Kids program.
To make sure we can continue to support the thousands of people who ask us for help each year, we have a responsibility to price our goods at a rate that allows us to assist as many people as possible. Although goods are donated to us, there are also costs associated with putting items on our shelves such as collection, sorting, disposal of unsalable goods, rents, staffing and overheads.
So we’d like to say thank you 🙌 to everyone who shops with us, helping to support local people in need. And to those that haven’t visited us, we look forward to seeing you soon. 😊
Cleaning Green Works
In the spirit of giving back, two dynamic minority owned businesses have forged an alliance dedicated to encouraging respect for our environment and community. Sponsored by NaturallyNeat Cleaning Services and Urban Aesthetics, the inaugural event.... was held on April 24th, 2010 between Germantown and Washington Avenue in correlation with Earth Day. A beautification event of sorts, participants... [combed] neighborhood streets for trash and debris.
Rafyah Lumb and Felicia Middleton, owners of NaturallyNeat Cleaning Service and Urban Aesthetics, LLC, respectively, were inspired...after witnessing the apathy many communities in Philadelphia seemed to have not only for their surroundings, but for the environment on which they depend. Rafyah’s five year old son lives by the motto, “If you step on it, you have to pick it up” furthering her dedication to the cause. Felicia states, “In doing business I want to be a part of seeing Philadelphia become the greenest city in America”. Joining their efforts is the first step towards this vision becoming a reality.
