Holding Space is the theme we are exploring in the first mOOn of Sacred Arts, particularly holding space for ourselves which has me pondering boundaries. I ponder and listen, listen and ponder all the while making marks. The page turned out to be a fluffing of my creative nest and an expression of my boundaries permeability- they are filters not walls.

“Being a married woman, it’s really tough to manage a house and have a work-life. It feels really good to be able to do both even though there are new challenges everyday. Work makes me very independent and I constantly push myself to get better at each step. I chose design since it has always been my passion and I cannot see myself doing anything else. My work always makes me happy and makes me want to grow.”
I was looking at how organized my studio was when @melhadtea took this photo of Turnip and I and it motivated me to spend the day cleaning up, sorting and putting away piles of documents and work that had accumulated over the last year or so. I shipped our in progress collaboration drawings back to @fionac.nyc today, unpacked and put away more of the boxes from the summer and for right now, the studio floors feel as “clean” as in this photo. #feelingaccomplished Now should I start a new drawing tomorrow or a new linocut? What do you think? #artistlife
