Since we’ve taken the side off of his cot thankfully Parker has been going down at bedtime after only 1 or 2 escape attempts 🙌

💥 When prepping I always try to boil a bunch of eggs so that when I ran out of my protein (chicken, fish, etc) I use my hard boiled eggs as replacement. What we don’t want is skipping our meals. .
I recommend to have protein with every and each meal. .

Decades later in the work I do as a dietitian, I know how potentially harmful this seemingly innocent food rule can be.⠀⠀
It distracts people from trusting themselves and listening to their body. It does not support people to regulate their own food intake or to meet their bodily needs.⠀⠀

Pumpkin bread for days 😜 The twins love it and I use it for snacks or to add on to meals when they're super hungry. Now at least I will have a little freezer stash of it.

I use to think I was able to eat enough fruits and veggies everyday, But to be honest I was only getting 3-4 servings a day. Week 5 of low carb meal prep and this week we have taco bowls! Yep, who doesn’t love a good taco bowl? Instead of rice, I used cauli rice and added organic ground pork and roasted onions and peppers. Quicker than I thought to prepare, which is essential for meal prep in this house!

I didn’t manage to fit in my morning walk before the boys got up today so I decided to pack them up after brekkie and go for a walk with them 💙☀️

#mealprepmonday . Tonight we’ve taken one salad in two directions. My fav kaleslaw mix formed the base of this Asian slaw style salad with broccolini, shredded snow peas, fresh mint & coriander. We topped it with grilled steak marinated in ginger, chilli, garlic and lime (this formed the base of a cracking dressing with ACV & a little sugar as well 😋) and some crushed raw cashews. This is definitely going to form part of our weekly menu it was freaking delish! Salad #2 was simply kaleslaw, quinoa & canellini beans. With these two salads and a few extra additions we’ve got side dishes for the rest of the week. #mealprepping#cleaneatingideas#freshsalads

I took the day off today and made these bees wax wraps (super proud of myself by the way 💁🏻) I have been wanting to do these for over a month now to reduse the use of plastic and foil on our lunches and food in the fridge. So glad I got to put some of my pre-loved clothes to use and recycling this pattern that I’m totally inlove with 🙌🏻 thanks to @spell_byronbay for the DIY inspiration🌻
All you need is...
1 cup of pure bees wax
2 Tbsp of jojoba oil
1/4 tree resin (optional, I chose not to add this as it can cause toxic aromas when heated/ plus it’s only added to make the bees wax more flexible like glad wrap)

When your 5 year-old decides he’s no longer likes lamb. 😱
After the amazing slow-cooked lamb roast the husband cooked yesterday, I decide to repurpose the lamb into pies and savoury ‘star’ and ‘dinosaur’ muffins.
So, did he eat any of this tonight?
A tiny bit. He was excited to try both versions of lamb roast.
As per the DOR, I let it go. I didn’t force him to eat his dinner. He decided he wanted the left over mash potato. I also gave him his leftover pork pattie from his lunch box because I was going to throw it out tonight.
Kids don’t starve themselves and next week he will probably love lamb! I’m prioritizing his relationship with food over him eating the lamb tonight. I ‘want’ him to eat lamb in the future.
It’s been a tough week for him. We experimented with his egg tolerance after seeing a paediatric allergy specialist. We are extremely thrilled with the outcome. 😁
Master 5 is growing out of his egg allergy. 🎉
He can now have cooked egg and egg in products. Yay!! He still reacts to raw egg.
We will be experimenting with his dairy allergy in the coming weeks, although I’m not holding as high hopes as his skin prick test revealed he still has his dairy allergy.
These balls of joys were one of the favourites from yesterday's wholefood living event.❤️💜 Swapping out cashews for sunflower seeds made them lunchbox friendly, and to be honest, I can't taste the difference.👌🏻👌🏻 Raspberry bliss balls (nut free version)
1 cup sunflower seeds
1 cup frozen raspberries
2 cups desiccated coconut
14 medjool dates - pitted
1 tsp vanilla extract
Place all ingredients in a food processor & blitz away until well combined & clumping together. Roll into balls, coat with extra coconut if you wish or even push into a slice tin for convenience. Place in the fridge to firm up.
