What do people really expect during an exchange? People would usually expect frequent traveling to other places to sightsee and explore. However, my friends and I didn’t tour much during our days there so I’ll just share more about the 4 cities that we went. Keep a lookout for tomorrow’s post because it’ll be on 2 other cities while today’s will just focus on 2!
We went to Jiaosi（礁溪）, Yilan（宜蘭）during one of our short breaks because it was near. You can make your way there via a coach which probably costs around SGD$10+ if I didn’t remember wrongly! It’s a nice place to visit because it’s well known for their hot springs. We stayed in a hotel which had a hot spring bath in it! We also climbed a mountain which had a mini waterfall and pretty much spent the time sightseeing. We also went to a beach where it had black sand. As it was freeeeezing cold, nobody else was there HAHA. If you’re looking for a cheap short trip to relax yourself, I highly recommend heading there!!! Then we went to Hsinchu（新竹）because one of my local friends stayed there. We went to 內灣 and it was crowded like mad. I guess it was because we went during a short holiday but wow, there were lots of food to eat and things to buy! It was like a day market kind of and people were just walking everywhere!

Heard it was 70 degrees back home in RI today. That’s crazy beach weather. Watch me fly back to blizzard like conditions or something. *********************************************** Flashback to our staycation in WH last August -

A lot of beautiful things are happening for @nomoontravel this year and I’m beyond excited and proud of the achievements and most importantly, the journey to get to this point. I’ve incorporated my biggest passions into a career: helping people travel better. Thank you all for encouraging and inspiring me to travel. It’s all been worthwhile. 💓 | #noregrets#nomoontravel

It’s cloudy and chilly outside today but my ✨new✨ custom lemon print peel and stick wallpaper from @tempaper_designs is making it feel sunny and cheery inside ✨🍋 more details on the new look soon! #melodramaville
As much as I love taking photos of people, places and tingsss, I am still hella awkward and uncomfortable in front of a camera. Believe me, sweetie, I just make it look easy 😭 lmao no but seriously, I appreciate my couchsurfing host @trikethecatproduction for forcing me in front of his lens. It's one thing when close friends are taking pics, but I froze up in front of a real life photographer lol. But a comfort zone is meant for leaving. More of these to come 😊 #bokehphotography#portraitshoot
@jbknacker and I had such a fun time pottering around @sistersgardenbloom today that we didn’t have time to stop by anywhere else!🙈 Such a lovely shop to wile away the hours in. Can’t wait to explore the area more next time!
Also I’m gonna need a blush pink door, stat✨
If #garagegoals was a thing (maybe it is!) this beautiful bay would rank high on my list. 🌿 (house stalking is my favorite travel pastime 🙈)

I’d say it’s time for another get ‘away.’ And if it can’t fit in my little carry on, it doesn’t get to come! I love my @away carry on!
Where is your next trip? What kind of luggage do you travel with!?
The @parkerpalmsprings has an interesting and long history. In the 50s, it was California’s first Holiday Inn. In the 60s, the property was purchased by the “singing cowboy,” Gene Autry. In the 90s, fashion designer Hubert de Givenchy transformed it into the Givenchy Hotel & Spa. Later that same decade, TV personality Merv Griffin bought it. It is now a @leadinghotelsoftheworld property with a @jonathanadler designed whimsical mid-century aesthetic. Celebrities have often frequented this #PalmSprings hotel. I like to imagine that this sign is a wink to the notorious arrest of actor Robert Downey Jr here for drug possession. 😉✌🏻💊 #thespacesilike
Always searching for those green and white vibes 🌿✨ Featured here is part of the gorgeous @shuttersca’s restaurant, Coast, where our own @colleen_dunleavy is enjoying colder temps in CA 😂🙄🤦🏻♀️ #GLRinspired
Moving to Honduras was really really tough - I had left everything behind, my job, my friends, and my entire life I had built in Chicago. I felt isolated, trapped, and alone and regretted my decision to move there for several months. Founding @ladybossblogger changed all of that, it gave me a purpose, a job, a reason to wake up in the morning... but it would never have started if I hadn’t been in that situation. Honestly, without friends around meant no distractions, without my comfort zone meant I had to venture out! I’m learning to be thankful during hardships because I know the outcome will be way better than what I could have even anticipated. 🌹 #elainerau
I was first attracted to the calming colours in this beautiful photo. And then I read the caption...Read on for some great life inspiration. Reposting both original photo and caption. Credit: @everchanginghorizon and @get_repost .
I’m sitting here in an old converted barn, looking out the window to rain on the Hawaiian mountains. One year ago, I was in the exact spot, looking out the same window, thinking the same thing... “wonder what’s gonna happen next”. .
If I’ve learned anything from living this nomadic lifestyle, it’s that my future is shaped by the present moment. My business is a success from acting in the present. When I started @everchanginghorizon it was not to build a better future for myself, it was out of a deep desire to find happiness in the here and now. Which was something I’d never aspired to find. I had made all of my major decisions based on the abstract goal of creating a stable future. .
All of my photos are created from being absorbed in the present. Most of my jobs come from making friends in the present moment — put down your phone for a sec, share a meaningful conversation with the person in front of you. There’s a good chance that person won’t forget you. And maybe, down the line, if they need someone to collaborate with on a job, you are their go to. I owe so much of my success as a full time photographer to my friends. Back in 2016, I was done with the social media rat race, sick of not being able to afford anything. I sold my broken van and was certain that I’d have to go back to my old job. And just in the nick of time, my friend @missholldoll hooked me up with @eddiebauer. Life saver.
... I realize that my most valuable currency is how I act on the present.
