It looks just as fake in person as it does in this photo! The ridges were so thin, that these mountains looked like a cardboard backdrop to a movie set! I was in awe watching them pass by as we began our trip around ring road. ⛰🌍🇮🇸
Helllooo friends! Here are Days 9 & 10, our last days in Iceland. Hope you’ve all enjoyed the ride!
DAY NINE: 8:30am we were on the road to Langjökull glacier for the @intotheglacier tour to explore an amazing manmade tunnel system. At Husafell we boarded a rugged bus that took us to Klaki Base Camp where we were offered hot coffee and insulated suits & shoes if desired. Behind the main lodge was a beast of a vehicle with tires almost as tall as Hawk, our driver. Turns out it was a mobile rocket launcher used by the British Army now modified with comfy seats and tires that have air pressure controlled by an app in Hawk’s phone - extreme glacier travel! After about 20minutes we arrived at the tunnel entrance and made our way inside. We journeyed through dark passages, and others beautifully illuminated by white or blue LED lights almost magically installed behind solid ice. The walls are smooth and solid to the touch. There’s even a temple built inside where weddings, small concerts, and business conferences have been held. We wrap up our adventure in the glacier and are dropped off by our vehicle.
By 6pm we were back to Reykjavik for our last night in Iceland. We wandered downtown again on a very busy night and had a tasty meal at a packed place called Snaps. Also the nicest hotel room of the whole trip.
DAY TEN! Our final hours in Iceland. We made the most of the morning by visiting the Saga Museum in downtown Reykjavík for one last taste of amazing Icelandic history experienced through self-guided audio tour. Dropped off our faithful rental car and returned to Keflavík Airport for the flight home and completed our entirely awesome 10-day self drive adventure around Iceland, the Land of Fire and Ice. Thank you all so so much for watching these videos and thank you to all the tour operators and wonderful people we met along the way!

Things I've learnt so far pt.2 • Iceland edition; 🇮🇸❄
- Iceland is called Iceland for a reason
- I will never say 'I'm cold' ever again
- Ice is not easy to climb on 😂 .
- I am terrible at driving left hand drive, manual, on the opposite side of the road (but Mark; did you die?!) #dramaqueen
