🏃🏻♀️:: 10 Miles @ 8:06
Did an easy 10 and Basecamp before picking up my bib for firecracker!!! I also discovered a new route I’m in love with!!! When I got to the Rose Bowl this morning it was so busy so I had to change things up a little but found my new favorite route🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻. 👯Sid and I will be at firecracker tomorrow, I hope to see you there!!!! Ready for the hills!!! Using this as a training run for Boston’s hills😫
Hello!👋🏻 I’m back after taking two days of complete rest. I’m feeling like a million bucks after 8 hours of sleep last night 😴 & my voice is almost back 💃🏼I think I lost my voice from teaching & felt crummy all week from 5-6 hours of sleep per night, rather a cold, but we will see...😬 Thanks for all the messages & comments for remedies to make my voice/throat feel better! 💜
In this square little world (& in real life) it can be hard to take rest days when it seems like everyone else is running 80 miles per week & setting a new PR every other day 🏃🏼♀️ 🏃🏽 💨 Don’t get me wrong, I’m so happy & inspired by all of you 💕BUT I’m just going to keep doing my own thing & trust that I’ll get to where I want to be, even if I do things a little differently. 🙌🏻 Plus, I know my time for higher mileage & faster times will come! 💪🏻 ⠀
W3D6 called for a 3.1 mile tempo with a 1 mi w/u & 2 mi c/d. I was lucky enough to have my husband @wags_runs pace me (& photograph me 🤣) for the tempo portion in the middle of his 20 mile run. I’m lucky to be married to another runner for sure! 😍I felt like I could have gone faster, but before increasing the pace I want to add more miles at this GHMP & see how it feels! ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀
@brazenracing Victory Run 2018. So I have not been working on speed nor distance. As I start this journey over, I feel I’m still over here on the shallow end getting my toes wet trying not to get injured again. But when @healthiq created a time challenge for this race that I was already signed up for, I played it cool but was thinkin’ OH HELL YEAH ITS ON. I beat my 5k time from two weeks ago by like ten mins! Lol. I was feeling good on this BEAUTIFUL course...no pain to report. And obviously @lean_is_in felt good too because he PR’d!! 👏🏽 Thank you @healthiq for the inspiration and the extra medals. Check out their IG for workout ideas! Thank you @brazenracing for another well organized event and an opportunity to witness The Bay’s beauty. 💗 It was freezing this AM but there was no one who regretted being there!! #brazenvictory#bebrazen
I woke up this morning to pouring rain, and I said there is no way I can do it. I just can’t. So, I forced myself to lift some weights in my basement. Not my favorite thing in the world, but I need to be lifting far more than I do now anyway. Of course, it quit raining the second I finished my workout, but I had to get ready for a baby shower. It didn’t rain at all during the shower, or on my way home from the shower. But, the second I headed outside to run, it started pouring! I didn’t want to go, but I found myself pacing back and forth like a dog because I was going to miss a training run. If I miss a run, I obsess over it, and the guilt eats me alive. So, I headed out for a couple of miles, but once I got ten feet from my house I was soaked. And when you’re wet, you’re wet. So I said eff this, I’m just going to keep on going. I had to laugh at myself because EVERYTIME I got to a massive puddle I would try to run around it, but I was already drenched. I’m not sure what I was trying to avoid. But, those puddles were cold, and my toes would freeze with every puddle I hopped through. I felt like a little kid again, and was having a blast out there, but mentally I was done by mile six. I finished out one mile after that and I called it quits. I just couldn’t finish that last mile, and I don’t even feel guilty about quoting a little early. I mean, I did run this after a couple of mimosas. How many people can say they did that? Bahahaha! Now, I’m gonna be lazy tonight because I have a 15 miler on deck for tomorrow.
Reflecting on my running progress. Top half is my first ten-miler in November 2015. I had only been running for less than four months. Then I ran Broad Street at a 9:00 pace six months later. Since then been steadily putting in work and just shaved it down to an 8:41 pace. If you ever get discouraged or plateau or anything else, don't forget to look at where you were so you can see the progress you've made!
The long awaited weekend🎊Long run was an early morning affair at sunrise and what a stunning one 😎 thrilled with a planned ave 9.28 paced 18 miler .. we somehow managed to run the last four miles quickest of all!! (may well be more luck than judgement) 🙃🤣🏃🏽♀️🎉well done everyone managing to get out today and good luck to all tomorrow’s racers #happyrunner#raceday#happydays#stickwithit#sunrise#marathontraining#longrun
Another day at the office....9k for breakfast .
🌟How did you stay motivated?? 🌟Oh, you are so passionate about running!!
I often heard these questions or expression, and I have come to the realization lately, that those two small words (PASSION AND MOTIVATION) cause so much pain and confused our true values. What??? Yes! .
“Passion”, being a potent emotion, its impulsive, looks for instant gratification and “Motivation” last so little in our brain that neither is sustainable on a long term. We don’t “feel it all the time”
When we pursue our “true” values, we became #INSPIRED and feel the #LOVE and #Clarity so we don’t need to convince, motivate, persuade, rationalize ourselves that we “need” to run or make exercise.
We just do it because we feel #inspired and #love when we do it..We can access those emotions frequently. We simply can’t wait to do it every time
When i run and i take care of my health, i feel love and i feel inspired. .
So notice what makes you feel inspired and love and you will never have to put the alarm to remind you to do it.
“We lose eight children and teenagers to gun violence every day. If a mysterious virus suddenly started killing eight of our children every day, America would mobilize teams of doctors and public health officials. We would move heaven and earth until we found a way to protect our children. But not with gun violence.”
