#18point4 aka NoRepWod done!
Shoulders feeling better this week. I only got 59 reps, but I beat my Friday score! Thank @3ricmejia for no repping me like 638462 times 😄 .
9 min time cap
Handstand Push Ups
Handstand Walk (50 feet)
You can’t see the spit or tears flying out of my face, but you can sort of see my mental breakdown when 50 lbs were added to my bar. Thanks for the encouragement and expert pit crew work, @allisonlauren77 and @ian_berger15
18.4 is finally done 😅 .
s/o to @paigewpassmore @allisonlauren77 @nynabeana @run_sarah_run & everyone else @ice.nyc for all of the advice before/during/after and for getting me through this one. .
My goal was to just get through “Diane” scaled (21-15-9 95lb deadlifts and HRPU) in the 9 min time cap because 1) I’ve never done 95lb deadlifts in a wod for time and 2) I’ve never done push-ups let alone hand release push-ups that weren’t on my knees.
Somehow I passed that goal and went on to complete an additional 26 deadlifts @ 135lbs (PR 🌟!!) and a 50ft 🐻 crawl (lol at me not reading the rules for the crawl because I didn’t think I’d get that far...)
It’s time to deadlift and HSPU, Fam. Come 18.4 with us tonight at ICE NYC 59th Street 💪💦

In honor of #transformationtuesday we’re showing off @ice.nyc member @nynabeana who has lost over 70 lbs❤️ She recently shared her story with @womenshealthmag, read what she had to say below:
“I was overweight, out of shape, and broke. I had tried literally every diet out there: cabbage soup diet, cayenne pepper lemonade diet, diet pills, straight-up fasting, low-carb diets… but as soon as I came off the diet, I would gain back everything I had lost. "That's why I decided to try a six-week beginner CrossFit challenge that popped up on my Facebook newsfeed. Before this, I never liked working out, but once I found the right activity, I couldn't get enough. When the six-week program was over, I joined the box, and 14 months later, I was down 35 pounds. Then I started working with a nutritionist and I lost another 35 pounds. Now I've been the same weight for three months, which has never happened in my entire life. "My advice for someone thinking about CrossFit would be: just try it! And don't be intimidated. Once I finally just bit the bullet and went, I loved it. There were people of all weights, sizes, and fitness abilities there. And I never felt judged for being new or less fit than most of the other members. Every workout is scalable, so we all finish around the same time no matter our levels. "Working out with people is actually the best part of the sport because they hold you accountable. When you don't show up, everyone wonders where you are. And that’s exactly what CrossFit and @ice.nyc is: community. The sport and the people seriously changed my life.” •••
hi i’m allison and my favorite past time is to watch people sweat and suffer and yell at them to sweat and suffer more || 🤷🏼♀️🏋🏻♂️|| 📸: @martsromero || #weareicenyc @crossfit @crossfitgames #intheopen
18.1 in the books! The last photo is an accurate depiction of how I felt after 20 minutes and 332 reps. I still find it absolutely crazy that 1 year ago I didn’t really know much about what CrossFit was and now I’m basically in love with it. Shoutout to the coaches and members of @ice.nyc. I couldn’t have gotten here without you! Unbelievably proud to be a part of this gym :) check back later for 18.2 📷: @martsromero .
4 and a half months ago, I went to my first Crossfit class. Before I started Crossfit, I REALLY struggled with 10 pound dumbbells, and I could barely hold onto the pull-up bar - doing more than a couple knee raises in a row was nearly impossible. My goal for 18.1 was 8 rounds (240 reps: 64 knee raises, 80 DB hang clean and jerks, and 96 calories on the rower), and I surprised myself by beating that goal by 18 reps! I’m really looking forward to the next 4 weeks of the @crossfitgames open and beating my other goals along the way 💪🏼
