Ah yes, being back to the turntable after I was out of town for the week is very, very nice indeed! Tonight I felt like playing this burnin’ Pat Martino Live album! @lindseys.vinyl.pics had me thinking about Pat’s music so of course it was time to spin this record. Pat is of course a Philly treasure💎- so fortunate we get to have him in our city!
If you're looking for a wonderful coffee house record to play, look no further than Leon Bridges. Smooth Jazz, R&B, and soul, this man can sing it all. Give it listen this weekend. @leonbridgesofficial
Can see this one being perfect for a fragile Sunday morning, recovering from a Saturday night out. —
Brainfeeder Records present a "chopped-up not slopped-up” mix of Thundercat’s 2017 album “Drunk”. Slowed down and chopped up by DJ Candlestick and OG Ron C of Houston DJ collective The Chopstars. The mix has been fittingly re-titled “Drank”.
Talk Talk - It’s My Life (1984, EMI)
This is one of those records that I thought would be easy to find in every record shop with a second hand bit, or reasonable quality charity shop, or market stall. Yet, in all of my time buying records I have never seen it. It’s only recently been repressed too. I bought this 1984 original from my brother, Paul, for the pricely sum of £2. Which makes it one of my better buys.
The last true pop album that the band did, this still holds a great deal of interest for those that love music for music’s sake. Lots of little inflections and nuances. And Mark Hollis’ voice is always a remarkable thing. This is one of those albums that’s successor could’ve gone either way, towards the artsy, or mainstream. Luckily for us Talk Talk chose the former. It was career suicide later on, of course, but time has granted Talk Talk the legacy of greatness, which is vastly more important.
Erykah Badu - But You Caint Use My Phone ( Vinyl , LP Clear 2016 12” ) .. Someone has New stunning stuff at home !! I couldn’t be more happier!! Years searching for this Beauty Of My Number One Soul Lady and in a week it’s at home !!! “But You Caint Use My Phone “ is a mixtape by American singer Erykah Badu. It was released on November 27, 2015, by Motown and Control Freaq. Following the release of New Amerykah Part Two (Return of the Ankh) (2010), Badu embarked on a five-year hiatus, during which she traveled to Africa in an attempt to record new music, though this never surfaced. After receiving a remix of "Bag Lady" from producer Zach Witness, Badu contacted him in order to record with him. Shortly thereafter, the pair met again and went to Witness's home in Dallas, Texas, and worked in his bedroom studio, where they recorded the album in 11 days... Cheers Folks !! And have a great Saturday Night!! .. #erykabadu#neosoul#neosoulmusic#funk#mixtape#queenofneosoul#missbadu#vinyl#vinylporn#vinylgram#vinylclub#vinylcollection#vinylcollector#vinylcommunity#vinyligclub#vinyloftheday#newarrival#lprecords#vinylstores#cordoba#argentina#saturdaynight
