I’m really looking forward to today. Mini me and I are going to look in every interiors and homeware store we can find.
When we moved here a couple of years we sold all our furniture and most of our belongings. The small amount which we decided to keep was boxed up and stored. We kept out bed linen and towels which we have no care for and squirrelled away our nice stuff. Everything you now see in photos are stock items and which are passing through. Flowers and candles are my remedy for attempting to make my mid-renovation house homely.
Our renovation is nowhere near finished but I just want a day of looking at and surrounding myself with nice things. I want to start adding finishing touches to my mood boards too.
So with hubster and little mini me away were heading out for some interiors therapy.
Mini me is also desperate to finalise her bedroom mood board which we’re hoping to bring to fruition this year.

Tea rituals | 'The very act of preparing and serving tea encourages conversation. The little spaces in time created by teatime rituals call out to be filled with conversation. Even the tea itself–warm and comforting–inspires a feeling of relaxation and trust that fosters shared confidences.’ Emilie Barnes, If Teacups Could Talk
Do you have a tea time ritual?
!!Please read!! I DESPERATELY NEED you to go vote for The Chaney Nest in the Fed Ex Small Business grant contest. You can find the link in my bio. My sister just told me about this last night, and boy am I glad she did! The registration closes on March 28th, so I barely made the cut off 😅. Voting lasts until April 4th, and I need all the votes I can get! Fed Ex will choose 100 applicants and then narrow it down to 10 winners (1 gold, 1 silver, and 8 bronze) out of the top 700 applicants. With that said, please go VOTE, VOTE, VOTE! You can vote once a day until it ends. I have never felt more deserving of winning something like this awesome grant because I have an insanely deep desire to grow this business of mine, and let’s be honest, me doing all the sewing/physical labor myself just simply isn’t cutting it (no pun intended 😜). If I am completely honest, my heart is not all in the sewing, but I love, love the design/marketing aspects, however I just don’t have time to devote to those important areas right now (because of all the sewing 😆). Currently, in this season of motherhood, I want to be fully engaged with my boys, especially if that is the message that I aiming to promote. It is a message that I am VERY passionate about. Unfortunately, I am not committed to breaking my back trying to sew my heart out while neglecting very important priorities. We are heavily involved in our church, I am a committed wife, I cook, I clean, and I am starting to homeschool. All that to say, this grant would be THE biggest blessing and would be the means by which I start having my clothing ethically manufactured by people who KNOW what they’re doing and who do it WELL. It would seriously be a dream come true. It would allow me to be able to step back from the strenuous labors of cutting/sewing and would allow me to devote more of my time to the area of marketing and promoting my message: that these are meaningful clothes made for the most precious years of our little one’s lives; they are made for ‘play’ and embody being ‘present’ with those we love most. Disclaimer: I am still going to do a small Spring Collection, but I’m taking my time 😊❤️ Thank you!!!
