Day 42 - Hong Kong sunrise view. We took an uber at 5AM to Victoria Peak. Touristy peak tram opens at 7AM (why not utilize the beautiful sunrise light?) and takes you to the best view of Hong Kong. Everything was locked up so we did some off the beaten track hiking/fence climbing until we found a good spot to greet the sun. Yes I fell a couple of times in the slippery darkness, thanks Phil for helping out 😄 The moment I saw this scenery it reminded me of something I dreamed of some months ago. In the dream I saw a sophisticated city from the very far future. It was a mix of Tokyo, New York and London. Tall skyscrapers surrounded by gorgeous Norwegian looking fjords (don't ask me how), and with the most glowing sunlight you can imagine. Worst feeling - waking up and realizing it's a dream. It was the most beautiful thing I've seen. Hong Kong hasn't topped that but it's scenery definitely brought back the memories. And Hong Kong's energy is a mix of London, New York, Asian, at places even Jamaican vibes - love it. See you soon ✌️(And greetings while writing this on a train heading from Narita airport to Tokyo city)
Morning walks with grandpa listening to the wisdom of the world and sharing moments to be cherished for a life time. He no longer wears a pink sleeved jacket for he carries the weight of the world on his shoulders but his choice of pastel colours and slow pace means he’s been to too many places and seeing too many things.
She looks at grandpa with his navy blue jacket, black shoes and khaki trousers and wanders when did he become so colour less?
He looks at her and hopes she will carry her true colours throughout the unknown events life might decided to walk her through.
They share the same moves when walking, clearly showing their relativeness. She jumps slightly every 100 meters or so evidently showing off her youth and energy to spare.
He watches carefully every step trying not to slip and carefully leads the way.
She respectfully follows with her small leaps paying attention to everything around her, he can only focus on carrying on one step at a time.
Aging is not a choice but a fact, how one does it is a choice made every single day. How many tales will you have to tell when your colours start to fade away? #victoriapeak#hkg#hongkong#familygoals#gratitude#wisdom
