❄️ Snow. In Australia. In Summer! That’s one of the reasons Hobart will be special to us 💙 They say it’s not unheard of, but we still treasure the experience. It was only by chance that we went up to the lookout that day as well. Winds picked up to about 70km/h and it felt like a mad blizzard. Then the rainbow came out 🌈 It will be a Valentine’s Day treasured for a long while ✨

I found my favorite city: Ciudad de México! A cultural mix between Europe, The States and with a Mexican touch - what’s not to like? The city surprised me in so many ways and three days are just not enough! From delicious street food, to roaming art and markets, people watching at parks and sipping coffee and mazcal in the coolest neighborhood Condesa! This city is definitely the peak of my travel 😍👌🏽
I remember when I started my full time travels 6 or so months ago I was SOOOO excited about my one way ticket to some very high expectations... bless my cotton socks 🤦🏻♀️ I had this idea that travel was ALL the beautiful pictures you see of nature and relaxing on beaches drinking from coconuts...
I mean it is all of that ++ the mass amounts of sweaty, cramped travel, tears, often getting lost after not finding decent meals for hours or even days... there’s the shitty places that you stay with cockroaches or funny looking bugs. There’s the homesickness that usually kicks in at some point or another, a real loneliness and pang for your loved ones despite being surrounded by people. There’s the mini mental breakdowns which usually involved bursting into tears after all the negatives pile up and get the best of you. And the rest of it.
Buuuuut - once I broke through how uncomfortable I was. Eventually, I truly love that the MOST about travel. It forces you to be vulnerable, and basically look like an idiot 🤣 I often find myself with the real giggles at how shit a situation is. That ability to laugh has erased my anxiety completely. I still burst out laughing when I remember some of the situations I’ve been in. I truly don’t worry anymore and oh I LOVE to be lost. I adore not having a clue how I’ll get back to base and I wonder what I’ll see along the way. (Within reason I’m a safe and smart lady don’t worry 🙊)
My point? I see many people travel the “western” way avoiding ever getting uncomfortable. But it’s true when they say you should jump right out of that comfort zone and enjoy the ride. It’s the BEST part and I love how it’s made me grow as a person like it has. 🙏🏻 #realityoftravel#fallinlovewithyourlife
I’ve been experimenting with foot placements in cable glute kick backs.
Here are 4 variations of glute kick backs:
1️⃣ If you are familiar with foot placement in ballet this is like third position.
2️⃣ Standing glute kick back
3️⃣ Bent over glute kick back
4️⃣ Glute cable side abduction.
🔶In each move be aware of your core. Do not hyperextend your back. I brace my core and make sure my abdominals are engaged before performing these moves. 🔶These 4 variations will help give you the aesthetic of well rounded glutes. However, more importantly, developing strong and balanced glutes can: 🔶prevent risk of injury in your knees, lower back, hamstrings, and groins
🔶improve athletic performance as strong glutes are responsible for deceleration and acceleration, changing direction and explosive power in jumping.
While it’s trending to have a big butt in today’s world, there are very important functional reasons you should be training your glutes. Remember that the gluteus maximus is the largest muscle in the human body, thus it should get more attention in the gym. .
Hope you’re having a great Sunday, sending lots of uplifting vibes 🧡💜🌞

Cheesin 4 the “chicken” lo mein #nochickswereharmed 🐣💛 It’s so awesome that there are Asian restaurants that are COMPLETELY vegan around Boston! I used to looove having family nights where we would order Chinese and watch movies together, but since turning vegan I thought that I had to give up those mouthwatering gmo and msg filled delicious food items (lol) but NO! Lmao, not sure if this place makes their food with msg BUT every single thing on the menu is vegan! Including their shrimp, steak, pork, and even lobster dishes (weird right..). It’s seriously too good to be true for a vegan!
I’m always told that it is weird that vegans eat foods that taste and look like meat products when they don’t believe in eating meat, but the reason is quite simple. I, nor any other vegan, has said that meat TASTES bad, but I would rather sacrifice the taste of actual meat instead of taking the life of a living being. That’s why it’s great to find meat substitutes bc you can get a similar and sometimes even better taste without harming an animal. Even if you aren’t vegan, it’s cool to try eating a meat-sub once and a while. You’re not only eating something that tastes similar to what you are used to and bomb af, you are also saving an innocent animals life. Just some Monday evening thoughts for y’all 💕☺️
Back to work and reality, bye bye Hong Kong! 🇭🇰
The Dragon’s Back trail gives a lot of bang for its buck. Despite being a rather moderate climb, the fantastic views are worthy of a much tougher hike💚 it is even pretty on a cloudy, windy day!
A few quick things:
1. Got my first big girl job ever.
2. Also the best weekend job ever.
3. I’m starting MBA prerequisites in a month, and
4. I‘m absolutely terrified.

P.S. Napa is more beautiful than ever come visit!
In honor of my three year vegan-versary, here’s a bunch of delicious stuff I never uploaded: 1-3: @champsdiner, 4: @dunwelldoughnuts, 5: Philly cheesesteak @interstatedrafthouse, 6: ribs @redbamboonyc, 7: gnocchi and vegan mozzarella from Rome, 8: mango sticky rice from Thailand
Mönchengladbach 🇩🇪 Do you ever get angry about little things just because you can't do anything about it? My phone has been acting weird, I could connect to and use the wifi at the ranch, I could also connect to the wifi at home but the internet wouldn't do anything, I couldn't even send messages but it said it had internet connection. The very same wifi worked perfectly well on my tablet so I didn't know what to do... It seems to work now apart from a few websites (weird) and I hope I can listen to a YouTube audio book or anything, but I'm a bit frustrated because I wanted to be more active on instagram today and I wasted all of my mobile data on this issue. 😔 Why are things so weird?
Some gluten free, vegan treats while trekking throughout the city! Found some amazing coconut water as well😎💦🌴 #Stockholm has a great selection of vegan food, but I am really missing bali's prices right now!🙈
Hey guys. Just going to casually drop this here. Just a vegetarian food store in Aruba that's been carrying vegan products for 10 years. No big deal. Just a place to get every frozen soy meat you can imagine. Check out the photo of the vegan shrimp made of yams!! What is happening?! Has Aruba been vegan friendly all along? Tell me, who knew about this secret vegan paradise?! #veganaruba 😱💁
It’s a dull and cold Monday afternoon in Vancouver and I’m still in vacation mode... sigh 💁🏼♀️
If you haven’t checked it out already, my top picks for Honolulu are up on the blog! Check out the link in my profile for vegan eats on the island and more Hawaii photos. I know I’ll be looking at them wistfully for the next month or so... 😩💙
This week has been freaking nuts!! 🥜 so many good byes and even more to come. Michaels play ended, one of our housemates moved out, and we are getting ready to move on as well (LOTS of travel coming soon!!).✈️🌏🇳🇿🇺🇸 🇻🇳
Saying goodbye never gets easier. It’s something every traveler has to do (& we have to do it often 😭). It seems like it would be something that you could get better at, but the more time you spend at a job or living with someone or spending time with someone in one place, the harder it gets to part ways. Many travellers have told me that they sometimes feel like they will reach out less, because that way they don’t get attached and have to say goodbye. I always thought I would never be like that or do that, but now that my time in Auckland is coming to an end, I do wonder a bit if I avoided making friends because the good byes are getting too hard (tbh I am still sad that I’ve barely seen my Chiang Mai tribe since I left over 1.5 years ago - I MISS YOU @psychotraveller @scottydoes1 @madelynmoon @kirkjohnson808 @chrihagen ). Goodbyes are now see-you-laters, but when your friends are all over the world, it’s hard to know when you’ll see them again. This is one of the many reasons I’ve decided to slow down and create my own little home and community in Sydney. I am so looking forward to having a group of friends in one place, a home to come back to (with a kick ass coffee maker, blender, and a MASSIVE world map), and having the local barista know my coffee order, and making friends with the yoga and photography and vegan communities there.
So while we prepare for our departure from Auckland, we have so much to look forward to. Life is whatever you make it, and when something isn’t working for you anymore, fix it!! ☀️
Happy Monday! 😊 I can’t believe it has already been 2 weeks since I was walking on the streets of Paris. I feel like this year is going by too fast and I can’t keep up. 🤷🏻♀️ This time pressure definitely adds to my stress but I’m trying to practice mindfulness, be content in every moment, and of course keep moving forward. 👉🏼
At times when time is going by too fast, is there anything you do to “slow down time” and be in the moment?
Ty @rachelhannahlee for being my travel buddy & insta bf 😆
recharging. 🐋 stay with people who fuel your passion, who believe in you and inspire your drive. life is so empty when you have nothing to fight for: no money or stability would ever replace a purpose. i've learned that when I found mine. now I got even more energized by someone very supportive, and I'm ready to get back to fight ✌🏻
"The trouble with people is that they're busy fixing things they don't even understand. We're always fixing things, aren't we? It never strikes us that things don't need to be fixed. They really don't. This is a great illumination. They need to be understood. If you understood them, they'd change.
Do you want to change the world? How about beginning with yourself? How about being transformed through yourself first? But how do you achieve that? Through observation. Through understanding. With no interference or judgment in your part. Because what you judge you cannot understand. Because if you desire to change what is into what you think should be, you no longer understand." - Anthony De Mello [Awareness]
This is something I've been working on recently to create more peace within myself. Trying to ignore the judgmental voice in my head that says "they should do this" or "it needs to be like this" and to accept reality for how it really is, instead of fighting it so it can be the way I'd prefer. I decided I'm going to start doing daily affirmations and for now it will be, "I choose my life, my whole life, exactly the way it is and exactly the way it isn't." #TheCompassionMovement#awareness#compassion#understanding#acceptance#dailyaffirmation .
[Miami, FL - January 2018]
I can't remember the last time I had banh khot, Vietnamese mini savory rice cakes (tastes like #banhxeo bites). So I made some for the first time! It was really easy to make/veganize/#glutenfree . 😋
I topped the cakes with @gardein Beefless Grounds and edamame. I made the simple batter from this recipe: http://www.vickypham.com/blog/vietnamese-mini-savory-pancakes-banh-khot
To eat it, I wrap it in lettuce with fresh herbs and dip it in a vegan chili-lime “fish sauce”. 😋🌱 Swipe to watch how I made it, turn up the sound 🔊 for the sizzle! 👈
Are you in Berlin and want to enjoy some really nice food this week? We'd suggest that you go visit Vaust! There you could have a well prepared meal and amazing home brewed beer. Everything is vegan and the dishes are inspired from the German and Italian kitchen - countries that traditionally loves meat (Germany) and cheese (Italy). Vaust proves that you can enjoy these tastes without any animals involved. We enjoyed fried Seitan, which tasted just like a minced meat patty, served with "Spätzle" (a German dish similar to pasta) and red wine sauce, and another dish with miso marinated tempeh (so good!) served with malt beer sauce, roasted root vegetables (which unfortunately should have been roasted a bit longer) and herbs "butter". Of course we matched it with their own Vaust Pils and Dunkel beer. After this we where still curious about their desserts, so we decided to split a Marzipan pudding with almond cream, cherry sauce and fried rice noodles (how creative isn't that?). This final was definitely the meal that we both were most surprised of! And everything, that is including the beer, is home made. If you go there, just a heads up: They have a seasonal changing meal, so the dishes we ate might not be available for so long. We see this as positive though: Food in season always tastes the best, and then you can always get an exciting new meal! ➡️
|| HYDRATE || ... when your water bottle is more zen than you 🕉🔮This year, I’ve been trying so much to drink more water, and definitely forgetting at times. I had my first coffee in 4 days yesterday and was wired to the moon 🌓 for hours after 🙊 Time for more water today and more beetroot lattes 🌸💕 Any tips for drinking more water?! I seem to only be able to do this properly when on holidays or at home as as soon as I’m out and about (or beach, office etc.) all I can think about is all the trips to the bathroom to pee from drinking so much 😅🙈
