LOVE. So many amazing women love and support me, @_ethigal is definitely no exception. Love this photo of her sporting her whiskey tote in Palm Springs. Perfect tote for a vacation outing with the family!
“Life is as dear to a mute creature as it is to man. Just as one wants happiness and fears pain, just as one wants to live and not die, so do other creatures.” -Dalai Lama ✨✨✨
Do you know the truth behind your leather handbag? Shoes? Belt? Car seats?! Common sense to the modern world is a cows hide. But do you know the honest truth of how that leather on your feet, in your car, or around your waist got to you? Most of the time cows are brutally slaughtered and left to bleed out. Sometimes slaughtered with the same knife from the first slaughter. If that isn’t enough to make you think, some cows are skinned ALIVE! But before they reach the end of this journey (what I just described to you) they must first be transported. In during this time they are given no food or water. So they collapse from exhaustion and starvation. Now what do you think they do with these beautiful, innocent, beings to get them back on their feet? First they start with BREAKING THEIR TAILS. And if that doesn’t work, they start poking them in the eyes till they give in. Most of the time cows die before they reach their destination. But for those who go through all this torture are now placed in front of you in stores. That beautiful handbag, your belt, shoes, and leather seats are the dead skin of something once so innocent, beautiful, and kind. I recently came across this amazing shop called @cardeekids the owner makes vegan leather moccasins for children. I love them so much more not just because they are handmade by a hard working person, but knowing my purchase didn’t have pain, screaming, and death to get to me. Go check out this amazing shop. Use your vote on buying vegan products to change the way things are. Animals are just as much beings as we are. And just because we don’t understand them, doesn’t mean they don’t have a voice. Go vegan! 🌱#veganbaby#veganbabyshoes#veganleather#thefutureisvegan#govegan#openyoureyes#beapartofhistory#veganmom#animallover#animalliberation#animalsarefriends#notfood
I have gone back and forth for weeks on whether or not to post this shot. One one hand I love the lighting and the way the fabric looks, but I don’t like the “extra” on my backside. I grew up as a tiny kid watching my 20 something yr old parents binge eat at buffets and then yo-yo diet. I also had models like Twiggy (you young-uns Google her) being touted as the perfect body. It was so confusing! I have fought through so much self-hate about my fluctuating weight over the years that I’m now in a place where I just want to be healthy and live as long and independently as possible. Ultimately it always comes down to health once you reach a certain age. I know so many women my age that have let themselves become lazy and complacent...not me. I want to be my best self, for my own health and so I can enjoy many, many more years with my hubby, going on adventures and exploring this beautiful earth together, with enough energy to do it! I have the right eating habits, and that’s a great start. 🌱 If you take care of your body it will serve you well. Much love to you all! Have a wonderful weekend ❤️

So my old vegan leather jacket fell apart after about 7 years of almost daily wear (2nd pic). After being heartbroken about the whole situation I decided to look on eBay and lo and behold I found the exact same jacket for 10 bucks and free shipping! Thank you eBay!
This pattern was inspired by the colors of Frederic Remington – Drew and I have loved his paintings for years. The subject matter is mostly fairly disturbing images of the Old West...so while I’m pretty sure (had he lived 100 years longer) we’d never have formed a lasting friendship, I am still in awe of his artistic brilliance and skill.
Shop the Remington zip pouch on the site! Link in bio.
My “yo, it Friday” face 🤠 Hanging out with some pretty potted plants (thank u random person with good front stoop taste) in a blouse my mama wore and loved in the 70s + these #veganleather investments I’m looking forward to passing on one day, too 🌿 Tap for details 💗 Have a sweet weekend everyone! || 🎥 @thehappyveganista

I try to avoid graphic content relating to animal rights on my Instagram but this is such an integral part of my belief system that I feel I must post about it. 🌱
I have seen the footage from fur farms, ones that claim to have "ethical sourcing" (though we know there is no ethical way to obtain fur). I have seen footage of recently skinned animals still alive and moving. I have heard the screams of the animals as they have their necks snapped, they're genitals electrocuted. Mother coyotes in leg traps to make @CanadaGoose fur trims. This footage haunts me. 🌱
And for what? Human vanity. The moral cost of animal products-not just fur: feathers, leather, silk, wool, cashmere, angora-is too high. 🌱
We have alternatives. Animals need not suffer for our appearances. We all know it looked a lot better on them in the first place. We don't need to drive them to extinction for fashion trends. We don't need to bring them into this world for the sole purpose of dying.
We are inherently compassionate but have had that trait conditioned out of us because compassion is seen as weakness. For the same reason you do not buy ivory, do not buy fur, leather, wool, feathers, and silk. For the same reason you do not bet on dog fights, do not bet on horse races. For the same reason you do not go to circuses, do not go to zoos. For the same reason you do not eat dog, do not eat cows, pigs, fish, and fowl.
All animal exploitation is linked. Be fair, be vegan.
The fashion mausoleum may be spectacular, still and full of soft and exquisite things – but we mustn’t mistake the stillness for peace nor the softness for goodness. Despite the décor, there is little sympathy for fashion’s dead, nor mercy for its doomed. I dedicate this book to every animal whose body has vanished into a silent fashion object. You did not go quietly. You did not go prettily. You did not go willingly. - Joshua Katcher, foreword
