ANIMAL AGRICULTURE 👉🏽 KILLING THE CLIMATE & THE PLANET
Livestock and their byproducts account for at least 32,000 million tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) per year, or 51% of all worldwide greenhouse gas emissions.
Agriculture is responsible for 80-90% of US water consumption. Throughout the world, humans dritnk 5.2 billion gallons of water and eat 21 billion pounds of food each day. Worldwide, cows drink 45 billion gallons of water and eat 135 billion pounds of food each day. Hence the cows consume 6-9 times more than humans. Also, did you know that 2,500 gallons of water are needed to produce 1 pound of beef.
Animal agriculture is responsible for up to 91% of Amazon destruction and 1-2 acres of rainforest are cleared every second. The leading causes of rainforest destruction are livestock and feedcrops. Animal agriculture is also the leading cause of species extinction, ocean dead zones, water pollution, and habitat destruction. Livestock operations on land have created more than 500 nitrogen flooded deadzones around the world in our oceans. For you to understand how inefficient animal agriculture is 1.5 acres can produce 37,000 pounds of plant-based food, 1.5 acres can produce 375 pounds of beef....
70 billion farmed animals are reared annually worldwide. No wonder we need to kill the rainforest grow crops fertilize and destroy our soil and oceans. More than 6 million animals are killed for food every hour.
A person who follows a vegan diet produces the equivalent of 50% less carbon dioxide, uses 1/11th oil, 1/13th water, and 1/18th land compared to a meat-lover for their food.
Imagine living in a world where we didn't pay people to slit beautiful animal's throats because society and our parents told us it was ok because their parents thought it was ok and so on.. imagine if your parents had actually had the thought when you were a child, like "wow I probably shouldn't feed my kids chopped up flesh containing stress, grief, and cancer" instead of just conforming to society. People need to think for themselves. We are teaching our youth that it's ok to eat a living being, that chicken nuggets and burgers are just food. It's unfair to not tell your kids what meat is, many of them wouldn't eat it if they really knew.. I don't have kids but my niece loves animals and I will make sure as soon as she can understand that she knows exactly what animal products are and the dangers of them.. that's not something anyone in my family ever made me aware of as a child, in fact no one ever did, I found out for myself. I wouldn't be where I am in any area of my life if I had conformed to society or listened to everything my parents assumed was right. We really need more free thinkers and people that stand up for what they believe in. Stop being worried about losing the "convenience" of eating meat or being different that's selfish af. You gotta love it when a restaurant gets a creative concept just right. During our stay in Providence, Rhode Island, we visited Veggie Fun, which serves Vegan pan-Asian Kosher cuisine! We hadn’t seen fusion like that before, and as you can see from these before-and-after shots of Ben, we found its menu - from the vegetable dumplings to the smoked teriyaki seitan and the veggie curry noodle soup - to be delicious! What have been some of your favorite, creative eateries that you’ve discovered while traveling?

Too much food for one person? Nah! This is what happens when I come to London for work, have a long day and pass Planet Organic on the way to my hotel. I’m crazy for those @hoxtonbeach falafels and that San Amvrosia houmous. I stuff my face with them at every opportunity. My first time having one of the @rhythm108 almond butter bars but it will not be my last. Nom.

I didn’t eat bok choy until only a few years ago. It just didn’t exist on my radar until I decided to try and be more plant based. #missingout Now I implement it in a meal at least once a week. This was part of my dinner last night and I just can’t resist the color. I am addicted to great color and bok choy is one of the ultimates.
