Regrann from @vegan_universe -  The Swedish retailer has announced on Instagram they’re trialling a vegan hot dog in their Malmö store, with plans to roll the plant-based delicacy out across other European branches in August.

The news comes after Ikea released a range of veggie meatballs in 2015 and forms part of the brand’s mission to incorporate more plant-based meals into their crowd-pleasing food offerings. “Every year, 660 million people enjoy the Ikea Food offer, and we see this global reach as an opportunity as well as a responsibility to serve food that is good for people and the planet,” said Michael La Cour, Managing Director at Ikea Food.

He insists that the new vegan offering will be as delicious as it is ethical, adding: “‘There is no point in creating a more sustainable option for our customers if it isn’t tasty. “With the new veggie hot dog, we can inspire and enable customers to choose a plant-based, more sustainable option at an affordable price.” .

🌱🌿 SOUTH AFRICAN SWEET POTATO STEW RECIPE 🌿🌱 Honestly a huge favourite of mine, and so simple! Bursting with flavour, nutrients and protein!

INGREDIENTS
🌟2 tsp Olive Oil
🌟4 garlic cloves, minced
🌟1 red pepper, deseeded and diced
🌟1 tsp red chili flakes
🌟½ tsp ground cinnamon
🌟1 tsp ground ginger
🌟1 tsp brown sugar
🌟1 large sweet potato, cut into cubes
🌟1 can chopped tomatoes
🌟250ml vegetable stock
🌟2 tsp tomato puree
🌟1 tbsp peanut butter
🌟2 cans kidney beans, drained and rinsed
🌟Salt and pepper, to taste

METHOD
1️⃣Heat the oil in a large, non-stick pan over a medium heat and fry the garlic and pepper for 7-10 minutes, or until the pepper is tender.
2️⃣Add all of the spices and fry for a minute, stirring continuously.
3️⃣Add the sugar, sweet potato, chopped tomatoes, vegetable stock, tomato puree and peanut butter. Bring to the boil and simmer for 25 minutes, or until the sweet potato becomes tender.
4️⃣Add the kidney beans and stir into the mixture. If it looks a bit dry, add some water (1 tbsp at a time). 5️⃣Season with salt and pepper

In 2014 I’d been vegan about 5 years and ate relatively healthy.  By 2016, I drastically upped my whole plant food intake, limited processed foods much more, and learned about tracking and manipulating calories and macronutrients (carbs, fats, protein.) For the longest time I wanted the definition in the 2016 pic which I thought meant adding more size.  As it turns out the appearance of muscularity is largely determined by leanness.  Your definition and veins will pop when body fat is lowered. (Less fat hiding muscle!)
🔹 Moral of the story: GAINS don’t always = MASS.  The leaner you are the more visible your muscles become and often the BIGGER you will look.  More important than anything, keep progressing!

Sempre fui uma miúda muito sorridente, de sorriso fácil. E sinceramente nunca sofri de baixa auto-estima, de falta de segurança: penso que isso provenha do tipo de educação que tive. 
Cresci e isso passou a ser inerente: durante a minha adolescência passei eu a não descurar da minha imagem. 
No entanto, nunca tudo foi bom: acho que nunca é. E até nunca falei sobre isto. 
Tive uma fase, com 14/15 anos, em que não me via ao espelho. Recusava-me. Evitava olhar quando passava por um - cheguei a não olhar para mim mesma no espelho da casa-de-banho enquanto lavava a cara. Não suportava ver o meu reflexo. Não me identificava com o corpo que tinha. Falhava a conexão entre a pessoa que era e o corpo que tinha. Para ser sincera, negligenciei o meu corpo durante algum tempo, incluindo em termos de alimentação. 
Não sabia eu a sorte que tinha. Não lhe dava o devido valor, respeito ou cuidado. 
Aquando da minha grande mudança, voltei a apaixonar-me por mim, pelo meu corpo. Reconheci o corpo que tenho, a sorte que tenho em ter um corpo perfeito. O corpo perfeito não o é por ter determinadas medidas ou formas, é perfeito simplesmente porque é um corpo. Porque é o meu corpo. Se o negligenciarmos, estaremos a negligenciar-nos. 
Se hoje me perguntarem a diferença que gostava de fazer no mundo: gostava que toda a gente soubesse reconhecer o seu valor. Gostava que ninguém se negligenciasse a si ou ao seu corpo. Sempre fui uma miúda muito sorridente, de sorriso fácil. E sinceramente nunca sofri de baixa auto-estima, de falta de segurança: penso que isso provenha do tipo de educação que tive. Cresci e isso passou a ser inerente: durante a minha adolescência passei eu a não descurar da minha imagem. No entanto, nunca tudo foi bom: acho que nunca é. E até nunca falei sobre isto. Tive uma fase, com 14/15 anos, em que não me via ao espelho. Recusava-me. Evitava olhar quando passava por um - cheguei a não olhar para mim mesma no espelho da casa-de-banho enquanto lavava a cara. Não suportava ver o meu reflexo. Não me identificava com o corpo que tinha. Falhava a conexão entre a pessoa que era e o corpo que tinha. Para ser sincera, negligenciei o meu corpo durante algum tempo, incluindo em termos de alimentação. Não sabia eu a sorte que tinha. Não lhe dava o devido valor, respeito ou cuidado. Aquando da minha grande mudança, voltei a apaixonar-me por mim, pelo meu corpo. Reconheci o corpo que tenho, a sorte que tenho em ter um corpo perfeito. O corpo perfeito não o é por ter determinadas medidas ou formas, é perfeito simplesmente porque é um corpo. Porque é o meu corpo. Se o negligenciarmos, estaremos a negligenciar-nos. Se hoje me perguntarem a diferença que gostava de fazer no mundo: gostava que toda a gente soubesse reconhecer o seu valor. Gostava que ninguém se negligenciasse a si ou ao seu corpo. I went for a 10x10 on squats with 315 and 2 minute rests today and after the 4th set my low back, my heart, and my lungs led a revolt and made me drop down to 225 to finish. I'm fully thrashed and SO grateful that I scheduled a haircut with @thefaderoom and a massage with @supermollyg! Pamper me 😇

The Plant Proof Green Phytonutrient Smoothie ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀

2 handfuls of fresh spinach (or 3-4 frozen spinach blocks) ⠀⠀⠀⠀
1/2 frozen banana ⠀⠀⠀⠀
1 tbsp chia seeds ⠀⠀⠀⠀
1-2 tbsp hemp seeds ⠀⠀⠀⠀
1/2 lemon (juice) ⠀⠀⠀⠀
1 tsp spirulina ⠀⠀⠀⠀
1 scoop @vida_glow pineapple & mint greens or other greens powder ⠀⠀⠀⠀
Good handful of blueberries (frozen ideally) ⠀⠀⠀⠀
3-4 fresh mint leaves ⠀⠀⠀⠀
Optional: 1 tsp raw cacao or cacao nibs ⠀⠀⠀⠀

Blend with alkaline filtered water OR if you want this to turn into a meal (rather than a snack) add your favourite nut milk and/or coconut yogurt. Wanting more protein? - add a small scoop of hemp or pea protein (already protein in this smoothie from other ingredients so won’t need much more.

This smoothie is alkalising and a potent source of antioxidants and phytonutrients. Together these work to protect against cellular damage/ageing (neutralise free radicals), prevent disease & promote overall health and vitality. Do fruits & veg need to be organic? Short answer is no - if it’s the difference between you eating them or not than non organic are fine. Are frozen fruits ok? Yes they have been shown to contain almost the same nutrients as unfrozen & are often much cheaper. Great in smoothies - I personally buy frozen berries for smoothies, freeze my own bananas and use fresh fruit for eating with coconut yogurt or fresh fruit salad bowls etc.

1 vegan meal a day. I’m not even about that Vegan life. I just hate when people say something doesn’t work because they don’t understand it, so I became a Intermittent Fasting Vegan for 2k17 summer.

As silly as this sounds but you don't have to work in a job you don't enjoy if it is making your life miserable. Yes we need money to live and get by in life but it isn't the be all and end all to happiness. Happiness comes from being just god dam happy in your everyday life doing things EVERYDAY that you enjoy ☺️✨💗.
