I got after my first 50k & the Irish lad brilliantly squeezed his way into 3rd place. I think we can both say with perfect weather and an awesome course, #chuckanut50k was a great choice. (Thanks to the support of all!!) #rabbitresults
🙋♀️I struggle with being consistent and wanting to reach my goal right away! But...if you can reach your goal right away, it's not really a stretch, though! 🚀And, if we already know that we can reach our goal, it's not exactly motivating. Our mind likes a challenge. 🏃♀️It doesn't have to mean running faster or farther. It could mean feeling stronger in body & mind. 🍍It doesn't have to be weight loss. It can be fueling our body well; so that we sleep better and are generally happier!
Right now, my stretch goal is running a 50 mile ultra here in Squamish! And now more than ever before, I'm recognizing that I've got to pay extra attention to getting nutrient rich foods into my body! Plus... doing what it takes, until it takes. There are going to be times when we want to give up because we feel like what we are doing is out of reach... but we can't expect to achieve what we want overnight!

What a run! Running with work friends, catching up with these @trichicks babes and hitting a PB (1:12:20 I think still waiting for official time)- all before breakfast! Congrats to everyone who pounded the pavement this morning and to @runforthekids for putting on such a fab event as always! 😁🏃♀️👌 only 63 days until @greatoceanroadrunfest Ultra!

Beautiful sunrise during the initial ascent at Elizabeth Furnace 50k this morning. Ran well for the most of the day but faded in the final climb after letting a wrong turn get in my head. Still managed to improve on last year's time by ~40 minutes so no complaints! Perfect day for a mountain run ⛰😁 Signal Knob + Tuscarora Trail = SO MANY ROCKS!!! Yuge thanks to VHTRC, the RD's and all the volunteers for a great day in the mountains.
Definitely got my fill at #musiccitytrailultra 50k today. This race is hard. Like real f&$@ing hard. 2nd time running and a little slower than my first go but really proud of a strong finish that pushed me further than I’m used to going in a “shorter distance” ultra—a laughably preposterous phrase. Suffered from pretty real dehydration due to warmer temps than training, but overall I got the ass kicking I wanted! Really nice running with 2nd place @jewlyhight for much of the day before she decided to kick it into a gear I didn’t possess today (🤣), and even nicer being greeted by @jaymiewhalum and my sweet @wendelljayne at the finish (pic #2 is her watching me come in 😍) Humbling day but that’s a huge part of why I do these. They’ve all been humbling whether I killed it or limped in. Until next time! #ultrarunner#ultrahusband#ultradad
