I'll never forget parts of the life I have lived, the lives within lives, whether settled down otherwise running from town to town, getting aboard whatever bus, train, hitchhiked rideshare that would take me on the highway, hiding behind dumpsters to eat a meal without being harassed on the street by strangers, going from place to place not knowing where I was going, just that I had to keep on moving, to believe the highway would prove to me a sense of freedom or salvation, yet know heaven was never my destination. I have lived many many lives within my life, a life of privilege only a princess in a fairy tale could live, & a hard life that most people never have to endure. I have had everything before. I have had nothing more often than not. When food & drink was not a problem & flowed in abundance, & days, weeks, months when food & money were as much a stranger to me than rain in a california drought. For however old I am, the majority of people might never go through, accomplish, overcome, & triumph. Age has no relevance for all the waze the roads divide. The true grit shall reveal the reason for value & ability above & beyond the average. The series of unfortunate events for the catalyst for metamorphosis. To the entitled rookies who ain't gone through shit before or yet, cheers to you
His was my last 24hrs. Friday was my first RIP class which was pretty much body pump. Omg. Woke up this morning and every single muscle in this big ol body was tight as. So what better way to fix that!? A bloody 5km parkrun. Yeah, na. Wasn’t good. Poor Sarah had a big task ahead of her motivating me to move at all. 😂 we got there though. Like Sarah said, it was a love hate friendship this morning. As the day went on I got more and more tight and sore. I think on days like this the toilet is your worst enemy. Thank the toilet lords that I could lower myself using the ever popular wall crawl. That little green sports ball has been my friend this arvo. Friggin hurts like what I imagine being kicked in the hoo haa would feel like. I have 12hrs to recover ready to take on true grit training. Stay tuned for that fun filled (hate) update tomorrow from me and Sarah! ~ Shannon ~
@perth.trail.series final race of the series “Swissmurdie” is tommorrow and I can’t wait. This is a beautiful finale in Lesmurdie with 17km of rolling hills. Then it’s not far until the big one #bloatedgoat .... lets get this done 🤙🏻 @garminau @salomonrunning
It was a tight contest vs JRC...veteran Forward Mack Graham had an assist on his Grad Night earns him the #TrueGrit honours & rookie Zack Bramwell scoring two more goals to add to his 40 points rookie season tally earned the #GameChanger honours in the 2nd last game of the season!! #Blades51#NextChapter
Visiting my momma brings back so many memories of my childhood, and reminds me of all my mountain moments in the San Juan Mountain's. Hiking, fishing, camping, boating, horse back riding, I've been blessed to do them all. John Wayne filmed True Grit here in Ridgeway, and after days of shooting he would visit my Grandparents Cafe/Bar and order the biggest steak on the menu. I can only image the grin on my Grandpa's face when the Duke was around. #ridgewaycolorado#colorado#moutains#truegrit#theduke#moutainlover#moutaingirl
To be able to do this. Leave a few hours earlier from work on a Friday afternoon, go to your parents' for the weekend. Immediately jump into the car and chase the snow.
Then: under a clear starry sky, with no one else around, and the only sound coming from your poles hitting the ground, feeling your heart beat faster and your fingers getting numb from the cold.
Everything is OK now. ☃️
