Flood lights from the US side of the border begin to bear down on a house in Otay Canyon (Cañon de Otay) that rests up against the border wall, as night falls on the US/Mexico Border. Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. In one of the strange quirks of topography along the border, on the left side of the frame, the wall veers into the United States allowing Mexican families to have gardens that are actually in the United States. This neighborhood is less secure that where the Arias family lives, up the hills. Families protect their homes with large dogs, often pit bulls or pit bull mixes and families are less forthcoming to the stranger.
