I grew up learning that traditions are to be valued. They’re to be respected, celebrated, and shared. Because once you begin to understand a tradition, you can begin to understand a person, a history, a community. A culture.
So it was an honor to host this show with my bud @crepesofwrath that celebrates different tattoo cultures from around the world, and to watch the video series come to life by @emilymiranda and @stephenparkhurst. The first episode is about Choshu Horikazu, who shared his story about traditional Japanese tattooing and the stigma and secrecy that comes with his lifestyle.

Run by the same brains behind Strangers’ Reunion & Curious Palette, this new child offers roast from 60% Ethiopia & 40% El Salvador San Carlos beans, with palatable berry notes I enjoy.
Besides their drinks selection from Chilled Bottled White Magic (signature), Matcha, Sea Salt Chocolate, to hot espresso-based coffee & Seven-Spice Chai Latte; their soft launch menu also includes Buttermilk Waffles & Cakes. Their Matcha Latte💚 was totally my cup of tea, much distinguishable from the ones served elsewhere. Too bad the chilled version wasn’t available when I visited.
If you’re out in search for somewhere to relax, this is it. The space adopts a relaxing industrial-minimalist concept designed with polished concrete, rustic carpets & an open-ceiling exposing pendant lightings & pipings, with tall glass panels making the space more open by filtering in the natural sunlight. An ideal pleasant & chic spot to take advantage of the comforts to chill with their invigorating brew.
P.S. Waffles may look slightly hollow here as it’s their last batch of batter but we insisted it’s alright to serve ✌🏻

A few weeks ago I asked you all if you’d like me to start sharing more about my restaurant ventures (there are plenty....believe me, my bank statements are basically a running list of all the restaurants I’ve eaten at) and I got so, so many people who wanted me to do so - honestly, I’ve wanted to expand into this for awhile, and since things have been so hectic lately I figure adding some of these photos would really help me be able to post content for you all more consistently 🤗

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend with their loved ones, though on a note in tune with current reality, my heart is heavy after the horror in Florida this week...but at the same time, the passion and determination of these incredible high school students that are #DouglasStrong are making me so proud, hopeful, and optimistic about inciting change in our country. Sometimes less isn’t always s’more...🍫 Especially when it comes to covering a pan of brownies with crushed graham crackers, mini marshmallows, and plenty of chocolate chips to try and replicate that campfire feel 🔥
