Following a $50-million renovation project, the 122-room Skandi-styled Kimpton Schofield Hotel in Downtown Cleveland opened in 2016. It’s modern and casual with plush rooms, relaxing, sultry tones throughout and indie décor which pays homage to the city’s history. Within keeping of the city’s rock-n-roll past, they offer on-loan guitars to their guests. This music theme continues with the best alt-rock soundtrack you’ll ever get to hear in a hotel elevator.
Cleveland Bagel Company will compel you to feast on cinnamon Cleveland-style bagels, which are a cross between the squiggly bagels from Montreal and the doughy New York-style ones. When I spotted a fellow patron order one with bacon and peanut butter add-ons, I had to have one of those too.
Market Garden Brewery is Cleveland’s go-to place and the city’s first American beer garden. Their brew master keeps the brewery stocked with a line-up of tasty beers like Chinook Strike, Wallace Tavern, Double Down Brown, Retro Hippo, which go well with the Lobster and Cheese Mac constructed from uber-fresh ingredients gathered from the West Side Market next door.
The riverside, industrial chic Alley Cat Oyster Bar in Cleveland is a sea food nirvana which, at sunset has an added sense of theatre. Who’d have guessed there was such a thing as an oyster menu? Nauset Beach oysters from Orleans, SouthLake Oysters from Cape Cod, St Simon oysters from New Brunswick, Blue Point from Long Island – each with its own distinctive taste.
Eddy went to the vet today. His fecal float was negative, which means his potty problems and gas are likely due to the diet change. •
Sadly, he tested FIV+. 😔 This isn't a death sentence by far, as @adventures_of_bill_and_tabs
and @pandaandarchiesgrandadventure can attest to, but it will make it more challenging to find his furever home. •
Eddy is finally learning some litter manners, so today I got to enrich his crate with a bed and some toys. He got SO happy when I waved the catnip mouse and he dove in after it!!! I can't tell you guys how happy I am that he's stopped dragging quite EVERYTHING into the litter box when he poops. 😂
I cannot WAIT until he's moved to foster care and has a whole room to himself with a million toys and a billion snuggles.
