For several not necessarily interesting reasons I haven’t been able to run for two weeks so I had a belly flip at the prospect of getting out there this morning. As it happened it was a relatively peaceful half marathon on a bitterly cold but stunningly gorgeous day. Ok, so the closing couple of miles were an undignified, snotty staggerfest but My Chemical Romance leapt to my rescue in the final stretch along the coastal path. Glittering sea and a bunch of angry Emos proved to be an unlikely but surprisingly effective motivation when my legs were long past the ‘bollocks to this crap’ stage.
I may not be totally back in the game but at least I’m off the bench. Happy Monday guys xxx
Since I've had a few new followers I figured I would introduce myself with some fun facts!
1. I am more afraid of 7 ants then 1 spider.
2. I love grapes but hate grape flavored anything!
3. I have a sun allergy 🌞 which flares up in the beginning of the spring but fades once I've been outside enough. (Very common to show up in young adults apperently)
4. I would rather skip an appetizer if it means I get dessert!
5. I went 5 hrs away for college and when things got tough I found a full time job to help pay for my tuition! (Plan B was to go home but I loved my school to much to leave)
6. On top of my fulltime job and finishing up my degree I have a second part time job that I absolutely LOVE! (Looking at you fitfam💪) Did anything in here surprise you?
My Fitbit now does up on the last hole with enough space to accurately track stats still! 🙌🏼
Celebrate the Non Scale Victories because it’s great to see little changes here and there! It really boosts your confidence and motivates you to keep on track loosing the weight in a healthy and sustainable way! 🙌🏼

I'M BACK! Phew! I got really sick after my friend's wedding last week and couldn't so much as get out of bed, never mind exercise. Not having any appetite for five days wasn't exactly the way I had planned to combat the excesses of the wedding! I was quite annoyed at missing a week of the #couchto5k and worried at what that would mean for my fitness, but I'm feeling much better now and was surprised at how good I felt after taking this run slow. I think I'm ready to go at this thing properly again! #thisgirlcan 🏃🏼

I truly believe that some things, if not everything, happen for a reason. Two years ago, almost to the day, having remembered seeing a friend post some amazing pro photos of herself on Facebook, I decided it’d be a good idea to put together a charity calendar. I found the photographer online and sent her a message. Within an hour we were chatting away on the phone as though we’d known each other a lifetime. On June 8th, 2016 I along with 10 women travelled up to @redshoemakeovers in Chester and we spent two amazing days in Sarah’s studio being pampered and photographed for cause. I’ve never felt more empowered and kick ass amazing as I did standing in that room filled to brim with love. Since that day, Sarah and I have spoken almost every single day and she has become one of my very best friends. Those of you fellow Greys Anatomy fans will understand what I mean when I say she is my ‘person’. Over the last two years she has taught me to not only have love for myself, but to respect every single emotion, listen to my heart and not to stand for anything less than real. On Saturday I got to spend the entire day with her again and it was bloody wonderful. I’m so proud to be able to call her my friend.
What a difference a day makes! The beast from the east keeps trying to fuck with my training plan 🙄 and I dreaded this alllll day....but the perks of a late run = a pretty sky! Tonight with running club we did a speed fitness session, was really worried about it, but really really enjoyed it, it was doing so many reps uphill sprinting as fast as we could for a certain length of time, then running back down the hill, then walking to the start point up the hill then sprinting up again, was good, and should help with inclines for me, because I hate them x #exercise#learningtorun#week12#thisgirlcan#fitnesssession#stokefit
