Feedback is a big part of the Yoga Teacher Training journey! Giving and receiving feedback is both challenging and beneficial to progress and transform. It’s sometimes hard to hear, but so valuable in our growth and evolution towards becoming a yoga teacher. also for the teachers teaching teachers!! We have been blessed with the amazing and dedicated souls that have trusted us to take them on their 200 Hour TT journey. So grateful for these words from one of our graduates @meridianmoves ! 💕💕 ~ Sally Flewelling| Graduate of Om’s 2017 Yoga Teacher Training program 🧘♀️ "OM’s Yoga Teacher Training program really stands out from other teacher training options. After lots of research, I found many courses focused on teaching lots about yoga. But what makes OM uniques, is that Sandey, Fiona and Kylie keep the focus on how to help you how to become a truly authentic yoga teacher.
The course structure and pace really suited my learning style - being guided and practicing at OM on the weekends in a safe, supportive environment; then during the week, self-study and time to reflect on what we'd learned. As questions, thoughts and ideas popped up - there was plenty of time over our 4 month journey to discuss and play with concepts, to try things out. I loved how we explored everything from Yoga philosophy to Anatomy to Voice coaching to busting out some dance moves!
I’m so grateful to all the OM team for their dedication, unwavering support as well as sharing their substantial knowledge and love of yoga, to make us the best teachers we can be. I’m now teaching yoga in central Wellington and on the Kapiti coast and loving every moment! Namaste OM." #omyogastudio#omyogastudiotreachertraining2018#giveandrecievewith grace #gratefulforthelearning#yogaeverysingleday#yogawithkylie#theyogaconnectionnz#theyogalunchbox
Next weekend we have our final events for the year at Om! We are so blessed to have these two strong, courageous and deeply beautiful women finishing off what has been an incredible year of truly inspiring teachers! @kani_causay is leaving for Chile and Perú for a few months next week. Connie is holding a special Cacao Ceremony on Friday night from 7pm. Come along for this powerful special ritual with Cacao and to give lots of hugs to Connie 💕💕 🙏😘 Sunday 26th November @karaleahgrant is leading a half day retreat 11am till 4pm in ‘The Heart of Relationship’! What a way to end! All Relationships are indeed our greatest teacher! I have participated in all of Kara-Leah’s workshops this year at Om and each one has given me greater insight and as cliche as it sounds I have learnt so much more about myself! It’s a constant work in progress all this self inquiry stuff and sometimes it sucks but it is so worth it to dive deep and wake up! Yesterday @nikrobsonyoga led a beautiful 2.5 hour workshop focusing on the Lunar aspect of the practice. Through guided meditation, pranayama and slow, deep, steady Asana, incorporating forward folds and twists to calm and quiet the mind. What a wonderful experience to have with everyone in the room. The Lake was indeed very still. Today’s practice is about the Sun. Looks like we need a little bit of that in Auckland today 😉. Still some spaces left. What a perfect day to get in the room on your mat to bring the Sun in . 11.30am till 2.00pm. Cost: $35. It’s totally ok to do one session. Just to experience this practice is incredibly humbling! Nik’s last session is tonight where he will guide us through the Fire energy moving, shifting and releasing anything that doesn’t serve. A perfect way to begin a new week. Feeling so blessed and grateful to have these workshops to share and spread love everyday. Having kombucha @theorganicmc on tap is awesome thanks guys!! Today’s practice is also to raise awareness for @movember Mens Mental health along with our friends @powerlivingnz @warriorjase #nikrobsonyoga#meditation#moonsunfire 🌝☀️🔥 #stillthelake#bringupthesun#stokethefire#workshops#mentalhealthawareness#movember#theyogalunchbox#theyogaconnectionnz#breathmoveflow#aucklandyoga#community

Now interrupting my regularly unscheduled New Zealand programming for a last minute yoga announcement:
I'm teaching a whole weekend of transformative yoga-anatomy-meditation-philosophy-pranayama goodness at Hot Yoga Nelson this Saturday & Sunday (none of which are hot by the way 😅)!
We'll start off Saturday afternoon with "The Anatomy of Yoga: Spine and Torso"--a workshop that covers the complex topic of core yoga anatomy in a way that is easily-digestible and is designed to inform and inspire students and teachers alike in gaining a better understanding of movement & the body. As a budding physician, this is one I'm particularly passionate about 😉-- we'll build a solid foundation for an intelligent, empowered yoga practice and fall in love with the magic that is the human body! On Sunday we'll move through "Into the Fire: A Journey of Self Inquiry" a dynamic asana practice intentionally designed to challenge, open and strengthen body, mind and spirit--refining the relationship you have with yourself as the fertile ground from which all else grows. After an energizing morning, we'll wind down in the afternoon with "The Yoga of Remembering"--a meditative and reflective practice of yin/restorative asana--to seal in the benefits and and round out the workshop series with thoughtful balance. Each of these workshops will expand your physical yoga practice, yes, but more importantly will teach you to translate the work we do on our yoga mats to life outside of it (the real yoga to be done IS out there after all) with the use of meditation, discussion of yoga philosophy, self-reflection and journaling. The whole event is appropriate for all levels of yoga experience and is (very!) beginner-friendly…yogis and yogis-to-be of all ages/abilities/walks of life welcome!
We have a few last-minute spots available, so if you're in the area come join me!
Bhavana means 'feeling state' in these series of workshops @karaleahgrant is running on the 17th and 18th September she will explore the feeling state of Courage, Self-love and Discernment using the tools of yoga asana, breathing, meditation and mantra to cultivate these feelings while on the mat in your practice. There is so much more to Yoga than the postures. This will be a beautiful insightful weekend where you get the opportunity to deepen your practice. Check out the event for more info on Facebook. Cost is $50 per session or $110 for all 3. 💖🙏 #theyogalunchbox#omyogastudio#bhavana#feelingstate#selflove#courage#discernment
