The second fort we visited in Jaipur was the Jaigarh Fort.
This labyrinthine structure was built in 1726 by Jai Singh II. It’s main purpose was the defence of the royal residence, the Amber Palace, which is visible 400 feet under the hill known as the “Hill of the Eagles”.
A legend says the fort was actually built to keep the treasures of the palace in a safe place. The huge water tank of the palace containing several underground levels and rooms was designed to be one of the safest places of the fort. For many years it was believed the treasure was buried somewhere in the palace and in 1977 Indira Gandhi launched even a “treasure hunt” to find it, but unfortunately she was unsuccessful.
Being a military structure, the fort’s architecture and design is much simpler than other palaces in Jaipur. I was quite disappointed to discover the visits to the Aaram Bagh and its beautiful garden were not allowed as this is probably one of the best parts of the fort! You can see the garden only from the walls [picture]. I’m not sure if visits are never allowed or we were just unlucky! 🤷🏻♀️ However, the view from the fort is amazing and it is definitely worth a visit!
Tip: If you visit the City Palace in Jaipur before your day trip to the forts, keep your tickets!! You can use it to enter the Jaigarh Fort up two days after without paying the price again!! __________________________________________ #dametraveler#sheisnotlost#ladiesgoneglobal#girldiscoverers#wearetravelgirls#gltlove#girlgetters#girlsabroad#living_destinations#darlingescapes#theeverygirltravels#damestravel#citizenfemme#globelletravels#femmetravel#igersjaipur#jaipurpinkcity#inspiremyinstagram#hello_worldpics#girlvsglobe
"No matter - tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther. . . And then one fine morning— So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.”

I’m starting to wander whether spring is coming at all!! 😅 C’mon weather, get it together! If you don’t know what I’m talking about, I’m talking about the fourth time we have gotten snow in the UK this year... and it’s practically April! This picture is actually from the last time it snowed a couple of weeks ago. .
Thankfully this weekend I was home in the Canary Islands recharging my batteries and getting my vitamin D levels back up ☀️ Had a wonderful weekend surrounded by family and cute animals 🐪(still in my stories, so go check them out before they are gone!). Now at the airport waiting for my flight back to the UK, and counting the days until my next break in two weeks: Weekend in Oxford 🙌🏻 can’t wait! Hope you all have a great start to the week 😘
Yesterday I was so absorbed by planning this summer’s interrail. I worked on it for several hours and finally came up with a good plan that my boyfriend accepted 😅
Confession time: At the moment I’m on my way to Copenhagen to attend a Harry Styles concert. I was totally obsessed with One Direction and was so heartbroken when they spilt up. I simply had to buy tickets for this concert and I’m so excited! What only makes things better is that I’m going to Berlin next month to attend my favourite 1D idol’s concert: Niall Horan 😍
Well, sometimes is okay to have guilty pleasures. I’m 25 and totally fangirling those boys. What is your guilty pleasure if you dare to admit it? 😝
The Tuileries Garden is a perfect place to go for a walk in Paris. This is the view from one side and if you turn around and walk straight ahead, you will be in front of Louvre. So many iconic and beautiful places 💕
The Admiralty building is very hard to miss in Saint Petersburg. 😄 This landmark is very visible because three central streets split off from its spire. Firstly having been constructed as a shipyard, the Admiralty building now serves as the Headquarters of the Russian Navy. On the very top of the 72,5 meter spire one can see the symbol of Saint Petersburg - a gilded weather vane in the form of a ship. Can you see it? ⛵️
According to the legend, the silhouette of the weather vane repeats a contour of the first ship which came into the port of Saint Petersburg soon after the foundation of the city. ✨
What's the landmark that is the most visible or that is very hard to miss in your city? Comment down below ☺️👇🏻
I love people watching at galleries 😂 do you guys do this? Haha ✨
I mean I obviously there for the art first but it’s an added bonus 💕 -
This is one of my favourite galleries and here is a quote from my one of my favourite artists whom I actually wrote essays on in high school ✨ and if you’re too lazy to zoom in it says, -

We’re back to Monday again 🙄Yippee!! 🎉
Today I’m sharing 10 things you may not know about me. 👩Some of my close friends might not even know these! ✵
① I can’t ride a bike. 🚲 Embarrassing, I know...!! I can manage to ride one on flat surfaces, but not around any bends, and certainly not hills! Maybe my balance is just incredibly bad 😅
② In high school, I wrote an essay about females’ emotional responses to the heterosexual hooking up culture. I conducted research at school and shared my findings. I was runner-up for an award! 🤓📖
③ I’ve lived in Vienna, Dubai, New York, and London, among some other cities. 🌃 They’re all quite different from each other, and each has given me a unique perspective. 🔍
④ For a year, I didn’t buy a single new item of clothing and shopped only at thrift stores 😜 It was my new year’s resolution to help the environment and stop amassing so much junk! 🌳
⑤ A really strange fact- I worked at a zoo during high school, and watched an emu give birth 😂 I also took care of the red pandas for a few months. They are the cutest!! ⑥ I trust my intuition. For high school, university, study abroad, and my master’s degree, I already “knew” where I was going to go without thinking much about it. I think I’m a litttle psychic 🔮
⑦ When I was very young, I used to steal the pretty paintings my friends made in class and tell the teachers they were mine 😅🎨
⑧ I’ve tried to learn Arabic and Thai. 🗣Both didn’t work out so well (I’m not that good at learning foreign languages), but were very interesting to study! 📓
⑨ In middle and high school, I always played the eccentric characters in theater performances. 🎭 People would be surprised because I’m typically very laid back!
⑩ I mentor young people (a huge passion of mine!)👫and am beginning to volunteer with the elderly soon. ⍟
I hope this was fun for you to read! If you have any similarities or funny stories, let me know! 🙌🏼 I always love to hear them 😍 have a beautiful day!! ⊰
Happy Monday! I’ve woken up all achey but I think it’s because I’ve been a bit chilly the last couple of nights. Fingers crossed it’s warm in the office today because despite feeling like it’s taking effort to move, I’m ready to tackle this week head on 💪
What’s your Monday looking like? And did you get any snow yesterday?
Summer means happy times and good sunshine. It means going to the beach and having fun. It’s the time of the year when we look and feel the best. So this is another aussie throwback on a snowy European morning 🇦🇺
In my Bali there are no bogan bars, penis shaped beer openers, ridiculously expensive smoothie bowls or overpriced yoga accessories. My Bali is green and peaceful, full of rice fields worked by open hearted farmers, the air smells like fresh rain on the ground, the food is simple the greetings honest. Nd the gods are still there, mighty but fair receiving their dues and protecting their unique Balinese universe. Go look for my Bali you will fall desperately in love with it 😉💚😉💚
Staycations can just be as beautiful as travelling to an unknown destination ✨
Photo taken of my beautiful home city, Brisbane before heading over to Europe last year.
I always love rooms with a view 😍😍
When I said I was coming to Delhi, everyone told be to prepare for a huge culture shock. I’ll be honest, I’m yet to feel it. Yes it’s a hectic, chaotic city that’s clogged with traffic, at times dirty and running at a pace faster than anything I’m used to, but no more than many other cities around the world. What no one mentions is that, despite the chaos, there are plenty of places in the city to get away from it all. Within hours of arriving in Delhi, I found myself at Safdarjang’s tomb -it was completely peaceful and there was barely another person in sight.
How we feel about spending 37 hours in the last couple days on an airplane. We’ve had a whirlwind of a 2 weeks, and one of the highlights was getting to know these guys 🐪🐪🐪 out in the desert. Have you ever ridden a camel?? || #camels#wadirum#shareyourjordan#petra#visitjordan
#memorymonday way back to Cuba last year! ✨ -
This trip I travelled with a girl I met in Austria a year before and 3 other girls I hadn’t met before. It was defiantly hard to meet people and travel with them but I’m lucky it all worked out for the beat part💕 -
I think it had to to be traveling in a place like Cuba where everything is so different and very few people spoke English 😂😂 -
I think we did pretty good haha ✨ -
I also just want to add on a thank you for getting me to 1k followers ! It means the world to me and am so excited that you all love my pics ❤️❤️❤️
“If you live for the weekends and vacations, your shit is broken” - Gary Vaynerchuk.
Has anyone been reading Gary Vee’s new book “Crushing It”? If so I would love to know your thoughts! Also, am i the only one who cringes when I hear someone say “Thank God it’s Friday”? We spend most of our life waiting for our days off of work while yearning for the weekends when we can finally be ourselves & be free. That’s not a life. We should work to make a living, not living to work. As I’m growing through the motions of life & work - I know that I want to create a life sustainable from my passions in life. I have a lot of examples around me that show me there has to be more to life than just working, having 2 days off, and 1 paid week of vacay. There’s more to life than that & I want to figure my way until I find it. ✨
