Well I’m back in Wanaka. 🏠
1. Left the Tasman saddle hut which was home for the last 7 days (zoom in and you’ll see a little red hut on top of the rocky bit surrounded by glacier) 🧗♂️
2. wandering down the Tasman glacier before ....
3. hitching a helicopter ride out ahead of the rain front now passing over NZ. .
Tomorrow it’s the commute back to Canberra. Will post some more photos as time and wifi allow.
The Emerald Lakes of the Tasman Glacier Walk. Each lake, a slightly different shade of green and as magnificent as the last.
It's a walk not many people do, but if you have a bit of time to explore around, it is definitely worth it!
It's quite something to watch the evolution of a single ice cave over time. Hard to tell here but this cave is massive, we had a group of 15 clients clipped into the wall around the corner to the left to enjoy this beauty. However, several months ago the entrance through which this picture was taken was only a tube roughly 1foot in diameter. Nature is neat #neature#newzealand#tasmanglacier
After a very stormy night, the skies came blue again. Went and paid my respects to the Tasman Glacier and sat for a while by the blue pools - once turquoise and glacier-fed, but now greenish and watered by yesterday's rain ☔
